ITW Fast Mag Opinions

I’ve used both, I was never a fan of their pistol mag carriers because of the way it oriented the magazines bullets out rather than the bullets forward orientation I was used to. I still use their rifle mag carriers for my AR15, they’ve worked very well between USGI, Lancer, and Magpul mags. Although, they have one labeled as MOLLE/PALS and one Duty Belt, I’ve found either one works pretty well whether it was on my MOLLE belt or my riggers belt, no real issues to speak of.

They use ITW at Sig Sauer to supply students so they take some abuse.

I dont use any, preferring canvas HSGI, but I will admit that the ITW are alot easier to blindly return a mag to the pouch without worrying about it collapsing on you.

I was following your "thinking I need a battle belt" thread, and wanted to ask how they eventually broke in. I like that they can take all kinds of mags.

The HSGI mags have worked fine. They mimic the work set up some, rifle behind pistol with bullets toward belt buckle, so I like the similarity.

Ive come to find out I dont return mags to my mag pouches......carry lots of magazines and use the dump pouch to return mags to.

On a different note, I’ve been using ITW FastMags (both rifle & pistol) for about 7 years. They’ve held up remarkably well in a pretty tough environment; my gear gets abused daily.

I planned ahead & bought several replacements for each but they’re still going strong & the replacements are still brand new & waiting for the call.

I’m not sure what you’re using now, but ITWs save a shot load of time on reloads vs using conventional mag carriers w/ flaps, etc. I’ve never lost a mag while using ITW either. Their positive retention system just works. Again, I work in a rather brutal environment & there’s a lot of running trails, climbing fences, thick brush, etc.

Thank you, and yes, I think your comments in that thread got me looking at ITW.

I'm not trained on anything, but am finishing up a belt rig. Really wanting something that works with all my mags and go between belt and chest rig as I need.

Thanks for the input.

i will add to this along those lines.

There are many vehicles that you may need the extra room in with all of your kits. Takin mags out of a belt rig and having the pouch collapse can have value.

I have a 38 waist and I find it useful sometimes.

See...

All this stuff I'd never think of.

The search continues...

Thanks @The King

Are you running the tall or short pistol carriers? I'm thinking of trying these out, they look just about right...
Excellent question, I wondered the same thing when I purchased, but I just guessed... Short, definitely short. I'll get you a picture when I get home, but I can't imagine wanting anything taller than what I have or needing more security than the short ones provide.

Yeah, I figured short - thanks for the quick reply.

I'm on their site, their cart is not letting me remove the tall... grrrrr

Here's the shorts with 17 round Glock mags & +2 extensions.
