Picked this up in a trade a while back and can’t figure out the manufacturer. It’s an 18” fluted spr profile, has a detent on the opposite side of the rifle length gas port. It’s only markings are 5.56 NATO (8) as seen in the pics

I’m not sure how old it is either, so that’s not helping.

Any ideas? Need more pics? D690EC8C-D1EF-44C3-BD20-10F145ACCEE7.jpeg09356481-A8DB-4AA9-8A51-0739895A0CC2.jpegCDFE706F-1E6F-41DE-AC22-500B67CC6A74.jpeg
Thanks guys

I probably spent longer than I should have looking into this and unfortunately I think it'd be easier to determine who it's not from. It's unlikely that it came from WOA, Wilson Combat, Ballistic Advantage, or one of the other better know makers, they typically put their name and/or logo on the barrel. That being said it also doesn't seem to match up with options from Bear Creek Arsenal, ARD, AR Stoner, or Green Mountain barrels, something always seemed to be a little different regarding the fluting or contour.

What did you trade for it?

Thanks triggermonkey.

Traded a cheap range finder I hadn’t used in a couple years after upgrading, so I’m not into it much. I’m tempted to just install it and see if it’s worth anything.

We have tested pretty much every barrel on the market which claims to be SPR or Mk12 profile, and that is not one we have seen. The fluting would lead me to White Oak Armory, but that is not their marking, or at least not what we have seen before from WOA.

I would recomend a coating, and you will want to ascertain if it is stainless or carbon steel (4140, 4150), so that you can care for the bore.

Thanks guys. Glad it wasn’t an easy answer that I should have figured out myself.

I agree it really looks like a woa, and maybe the markings are from a really old one, who knows, but I’ll try to piece it together to try out and see what it can do.

Thanks guys

Given not many places sell 5.56 chambered, 1n8 twist, 18", Fluted barrels... I would guess it is a older Green Mountain Barrel.
