@MarinePMI very nice!

Im about to turn a Tikka CTR into a Tikka switch barrel using the WTO lug.

I should probably ask C6 this question, but I assume that ordering as a Tikka pre-fit is the way to go? The instructions from WTO...

“If you are using the factory tenon threads in the receiver without any additional recutting, the thread portion of the tenon should be .995” OD, 16TPI, with a thread pitch diameter of .960” maximum. The threaded portion of the tenon should be .900” in length, for a length including the lug interface of 1.250” total.”

Hi,

Can you have CS send me a bag of cracklins from Dons if I order a test barrel, lol?
@THEIS (and also a general public service announcement......)
Don's is for tourists and amateurs; best in class cracklins can be sourced at Billeaud's in Broussard. Billeaud's stay delicious for many days after the "born on" date, while the deliciousness of Don's deteriorates rapidly.

Just stumbled across this and wondered if that 10% off with free shipping promo is still good for hide members? Got a Tikka 7Saum build going together and this looks like a great option.

Thanks!

Give Gene a call. He gave me the snipers hide discount when I ordered on 3/05/21. I received 2 of the 3 carbon barrels (tikka shoulder prefit, chambered and muzzle threaded to my specs) on March 25th! My Tikka 7 SAUM carbon barrel is still in progress. I have never been disappointed by Carbon 6. Great customer service and their barrels always shoot amazing.

6 Creedmoor in a ctr and a 6.5 GAP 4S ready for the range when the wind drops below 20mph and I can enjoy my expensive ammo more. I have factory ammo for both rifles but I will post results

What specs did you go on your saum? Why would a guy choose the 2.5" or 3" long shank? Or the extended 1.5" muzzle end?

I'm looking at an 18" to run with an 8" can

I went with a 24 inch featherweight 8 twist tikka shouldered with 2.5 inch shank and 1 inch long 5/8x24 muzzle thread on my 7SAUM. The longer shank may be used for an ultramag chamber option. My 7mm rem mag chambered barrel used the 2.5 inch shank.

@knuckleballz how close does that contour come to replicating the Tikka CTR contour? Been looking at Carbon 6 and trying to decide between FWeight and Sendero

I had to open up the barrel channel on the ctr stock for both the sendero and the featherweight barrels. It took me about 30 minutes with a hand held power sander. The forend doesnt seem to loose any rigidity. I can still shoot 1/4 inch groups with the factory stocks so I just use them and factory magazines. I measured a 24inch factory ctr 6.5 creed barrel and it measures .786 inch 9.6 inches from the shoulder of the barrel, which is at the end of the ctr stock. The carbon 6 featherweight is .981 at 9.6 inches and the carbon 6 sendero is 1.00 at 9.6 inches. The factory ctr has a contoured taper. The carbon 6 has more of a straight taper. Once I get the barrel channel sanded close, I put some masking tape around the barrel to protect it and i slip strip of sand paper between barrel/stock and work it back and forth to get the finished gap I want. you can start with action screws loose and tighten them as you remove material. you can add more layers of tape to barrel or use 2 thicknesses of sand paper to get more clearance. You will have to do some sanding with the featherweight, and more sanding with the sendero.

Would you be able to post pics or PM? Im thinking I am about to do this shortly for my Tikka stock also.

I did mine without a switch-lug or significant amount of modification. The nice part about that is I can continue to use off the shelf prefits for the Tikka instead of turning it into a one-off thread-to-fit custom barrel type of action.
I have one Tikka like this and am planning on adding a second barrel to my 223 and my CTR.

What tools are you using to swap out pre-fits on your Tikka action?
I have 3/4" flats at the end of the barrels for one rifle. I hold it between my legs and swap them with a torque wrench and a crows foot. I have 6.5 Creedmoor, 22BR, and just got a 6 Dasher barrel from Preferred Barrels. Still need to check the headspace on that one and shoot it.

I have a PMA tools barrel vise and an inside action wrench for my barrels without the flats.

So after having my 24" 243 in the Featherlight weight for just over a year and close to 200 rounds, I have to say I am very happy with it. I have just received my third Carbon Six barrel and am awaiting my forth.

Gonna have TL3/Impact etc shouldered prefits any time soon?
Great question!!!

Here is the best answer I can give you as far as custom action pre-fit barrels go.

We have made it a priority to support the entire firearm industry and that includes the gunsmiths. A lot of barrel makers are removing the gunsmith completely with their large pre-fit options. We prefer our customers bring a blank to their smith and support their trade.

That said, we understand not everyone has a smith or wants to ship their rifle across the country to a gunsmith. So we will make a pre-fit for certain custom actions, the Zermatt actions being one of them. We will never offer them on the site but if you call, I will take care of you.

I hop that explanation answers your questions about that topic.

Thank You,

Gene Gordon

Just letting y'all know that we have a 15% discount going on "Summer2021" at checkout. It goes till 8/31/2021

We are coming off of an annoying delay caused by our carbon fiber vendor. Orders that were placed earlier this year are currently being pushed through the system and we should be back into the 4 month range on new custom orders by the end of August. This year has been wonky for the industry as a whole and we didn't make it out unscathed. Good news is we have enough carbon fiber in house for the next 2.5 years and more orders already placed over the next few years to keep us above a year at any given time.

I just purchased a c=Carbonsix remage type barrel in 6.5C. I will say the customer service has been very impressive so far, extremely quick responses and when you call in you will talk to a person not have to listen to a bunch of automated responses and leave a message or w/e. I did have to send it back as the throat was too tight, however they had an extremely quick turn around. Working on load development now, throat still seems a little tight but we will see how it turns out. I will post pics once I work up a load that it likes. Really hopeful!! Super light weight and good looking barrel. 26" threaded Sendero contour comes out to right around 3lbs.

Keep me posted on the barrel via email. Easier to follow with emails.

So if you ordered a barrel in say late April, when could you "hypothecially" see said barrel? *crosses fingers*

I ordered mine January 20th, and still no barrel. It was a 6mm blank only so...

Maybe last year lengthened lead times idk. If ordered now, possibly by the end of the year.

Like above mentioned, we were bitten by the supply chain monster. That has been resolved and we are rolling through orders but it will take a little bit to get through. Please give me a call ASAP if you are in a position that you need an order before a certain date. I WILL make sure your barrel is out on time. This is what it is for now, it won't take us too long to get caught back up but until we are caught back up, I'll have to tip toe around orders to move things out faster if needed. Email or phone is ALWAYS the best and fastest way to reach me.

16" 6.5CM featherweight Origin prefit ordered, cannot believe the ~32oz quoted weight! Excited to get the nomad screwed on for a 22" suppressed 8lb scoped hunting rifle.

I ordered in April. Just got my 16” 6.5 creed bull friday. Was supposed to be Monday but ups kept moving it back. Can’t wait to get it on the action and start work up 😎

Super impressed with my 26” 6.5C remage barrel. Super light, looks great - put it through the ringer and it shoots great. I will say that customer service for carbon 6 has been absolutely phenomenal. Had a bit of a tight throat initially and the owner of the company called me to ensure me that I would have a barrel shooting lights out before my competition. They turned my barrel around extremely quick and I am very pleased. 10/10 would recommend and I’ll buy again. Can’t say how impressed I am with the customer service here. Thanks guys!

There's really no weight savings with CF on shorter barrels.
I have a 16" ss tikka barrel thats fat enough for my 5/8×24 direct thread suppressor, it weighs just a few oz over 2lbs

I gave up trying to play the contour and fluting game to get weight down. Pacnor's calculator was showing only 2.5lb with #3 and the most aggressive fluting, although my math indicated a #2 @ 16" would handle a 5/8x24 shoulder. Once I threw in the cost of fluting, cerakote, and chambering, it was nearly the same price as a lighter prefit C6..

You don't need fluting to get the weight close to 2lbs with a 16" .720 muzzle, this one isn't.
If you like the look better then thats the only advantage over ss

Ordered May 3rd and just got notification that it's finished. Got the tracking number an hour after payment.

Thanks to everyone for updating their barrels status. It helped keep me sane.

Gene got me squared away with next day shipping label UPS dropped the ball though I shipped it on Thursday and show that it wasn’t
