Anyone use an Atlas Super CAL on an AT? I'm thinking of picking one up for my AT and I'd love to see a picture of what the rifle looks like with the Super CAL mounted. Not for PRS style matches, will be used for prone shooting such as informal mid-range F-Class.
I've been through this thread and if there's a picture with this set up I missed it.

Thanks.

I think I'm at the point in this journey where I need to have an AI. I want this AI to be more of a functional sniper rifle than a PRS rig. I like my current 6.5CM Bergara/KRG just fine but I may want to explore .308 because I shot a lot of it in the Army and I want to relive my glory days lol. Some people buy Corvettes in their 40s, I want an AI (and a Porsche if we're being honest). I love the look of the AT with the thumbhole stock so that's what I'll aspire to purchase. Caliber is the only decision left. .308 20", .308 24", or 6.5CM 24"? Stick with the flatter shooting 6.5CM? Shooting will be movers out to 250, pop ups out to 350 and and steel out to 1000. Yeah, I could do this with an AR10 but why not make it more fun with an AI?

The fun part is that you don’t have to choose man. Why not snag all three barrels? Having to choose is soooo 1990 😂

Yeah changing a barrel is as easy as changing a mag. Buy your first instinct and then keep an eye open for the other barrels you want. You’ll find one here in a week.

Dear sir, what is wrong with buying a Corvette C3 just before my forties will start (39yo currently) :) meanwhile saving for an AI MKIII....... which will arrive shortly after I get 40 ( may 2021 ).....

Hey guys. I have a factory AI 308 barrel that was chopped to 18” mile high with sub 50 rounds and a 24” 6.5 CM barrel spun up by mile high with sub 200 rounds. I like the handiness of the 308 but prefer the 6.5cm cartridge. I’m thinking of offing those barrels and maybe trying to loose a little weight with a rem varmit contour 6.5cm @ 18”. I see the price of barrels in the marketplace can be all over the place. What’s a realistic expectation and asking price for those barrels?

Which contour? 400-600 depending on if they are factory ai barrels with bartlein blanks and what muzzle threads pitch...

Before you go listing in the px might wanna check the new rules as you are supposed to be a paying member now to list I think

Yea I’ve been meaning to do it I just havnt yet.
Both 5/8-24 with TBAC brakes. Honestly I don’t remember the contour of the 6.5 barrel. Heavier lol but yes it’s a bartlein. The gun was purchased new from mile high so I assumed the 308 barrel was bartlein too. Dude I bought it from gave me the final build and itemized list from MHSA list so I guess I should find it.

As much as I love my AXMC, the AXSR looks better. I know they shoot the same but I like the lever safety better than the bolt safety. The ability to resist buying one is going to be hard. Love the AT-X too but AXSR reigns supreme. Love the lefty!!! But it makes my brain hurt looking at rifles with the bolt on the wrong side :).

Looks are subjective, there's no wrong answers here but I prefer the looks of the MC over the SR, and the AW over either.

They certainly are subjective. One day I would like to add an AW just because they are classic AI. I am adding the AR grip mod to my AXMC. Only thing I don’t like is the grip which that will rectify. Also adding the thumb shelf.

I almost bought an AXSR in lefty when the email came that they were available. Then I thought the spousal unit would shoot me with the 2 other AI in the safe when she found out.

Yeah me too, I have to cut back on the purchases or risk my life :)

*snicker*

Not all are AI rifles, some are AICS builds. Starting at from left going counter clockwise:

GAP Templar 300WM
AI AT 308
AI AT 6.5 Creed
R700 300 BO
R700 223
Vudoo 22LR
AI AT 6XC

How many AIs do some of you guys own?

Y'all only got two hands and a pair of eyeballs right?

Agreed. If AI will ever do a 223 I'll loose the two Remies. Already contemplating letting the 300WM set sail with talk of the AT short mag bolt face.

You must be able to get setups for the 223

I’m pretty sure @Adam B just sold a conversion kit for the AI

Also thought @Dthomas3523 had a rifle he was selling with a 223 aftermarket system

Serious question guys. I haven't ever shot 338LM and the AXMC came with the factory barrel and bolt, so set up to send those downrange. I know the fundamentals are key for bigger stuff and have been working one that with my AX and now the MC. What factory ammo has performed best for you guys out of the factory barrels? With ammo prices so high, and being in this fucktard state, I don't want to buy the wrong stuff.
What are your ammo suggestions for factory 338LM 27" factory barrel?
Thank you in advance and stay safe.
Tack

I have not fired our 338 at 100 yards much at all, but at ELR, I've gotten the best consistency from the Berger 300 gr OTM Hybrid. From Lapua factory ammo, I've had better luck with the 250 Scenars than the 300's. ES and SD better with the Bergers though.
