Oversized 5.56 cases after firing

I just might do that but with all the shortage of firearms these days, I could end up waiting 12 months or more for a replacement upper.

Don’t get a replacement! Wtf are you thinking. It’s like complaining that someone is ass raping you and agreeing when they say they will do it nicer next time.

I saw a BCM 16 MCMR upper for sale locally today for 700 bucks. It is a better product than your DD (obviously) and cheaper as well.

Stop trying to fix a broken situation. Leave the abuser and move on with your life lol.

Or do you need to be OAF and have the DD?
Most guys who have the choice aren’t running DD now, FYI.
No, I was just concerned about getting a replacement in these uncertain times. I don’t need a barrel that will last 15,000 rounds either. I have bad kidneys and won’t be around much longer anyway. I just picked DD because I heard they were an ok manufacturer. I guess I was wrong.

DD had been known for making a great rifle, but they where over priced. If they have just your upper, have them send a replacement. If the replacement dose the same get your money back.

The problem is he doesn’t see a need to send me a replacement because he says there is nothing wrong with the one I sent him. I told him to show my cases to someone there that actually reloads their own ammo and see if they see what all of us do!

I’d get my money back then. Once you have it and are ready for another I can help you locate a better AR. Just make a post on what you are looking for and what you want the rifle to do.

I appreciate it. I will know more tomorrow.

I agree with all who said Get Your Money Back. DD can suck lemons imho if that's the way they treat customers now.

It's a bummer to hearthis story.

Though I'm not sure BCM is any "better" when it comes to CS. They have been known to fire their customers in the past. I have had trouble just getting a simple yes/no question answered from them before, as well. After several emails, I just gave up.

I wonder how this might go if DD acctually had reps on this forum (do they?).

Then why would they not plainly see what I am talking about? They are the experts, no??

You'd think so, but sometimes the "experts" really aren't. I don't know about DD, haven't used them or worked with them, but have seen way too many times where so called experts either wouldn't take the time to understand and look at the problem area, or just didn't actually know anything beyond the armorer level checks they were taught.

The whole situation is too bad, especially for a supposedly high end upper. Their refusal to admit that the fired case is showing a chamber defect is a huge red flag against them IMO; either they think you're stupid enough to believe them, or the people you're dealing with genuinely don't know what they're looking at.

Yeah, the customer service rep told me that his guy has more qualifications than me and my internet buddies.
Ok.... Lol.
If his "guy" can't literally see the issue at hand... then maybe the next guy at DD is more qualified.

Maybe they could show you the "spec" that says that is "normal"

I'd take them up on the refund.

New barrel installed, test fired and sending 5 as formed cases back with the upper. Now I wait for fed Ex to deliver.

So the newly fire formed brass come out normal I expect?

Sounds like a miscommunication between the tech and CS... (not that the tech should have missed the issue, but then, I've seen honest guys fail to catch basic things before).

Sometimes I dread going through the CS rep for this exact reason.

You got to figure a company is not going to put thier best employees on the cs desk.

Seems to be the pattern to me.

I try cs a couple times hoping to find one that understands.
