Capitol Amory VS Silencer Shop? CA has several items instock that SS does not. I have all my info/prints/trust through SS.

How much more am I going to pay if I buy suppressors from CA? Is there a Sniper's Hide discount?

Already bought 4 suppressors, looking for a 5th and 6th plus some muzzle devices and accessories.

Website prices seem the same to me.

You pay $5 more for the convenience of SilencerShop handling your forms when you buy the stamp through them. Those $5 are more than worth it, IMO. You also don't pay anything to "SilencerShop-powered" dealers for them to hold on to your suppressor while your Form 4 clears.

You may need to pay your LGS $20-80 for them to hold your suppressor while your Form 4 clears if it's from anyone else, or if they're not
part of Silencer Shop's network.

Capitol Armory, hands down. Their customer service is the finest. I switched to them from SS years ago and have never regretted it, in fact, have been absolutely delighted. Jorge and Torrey run a first class operation.

If you are having your suppressor shipped to a local SS powered dealer it only really matters how much they charge for a transfer. If you buy from SS and they are a SS dealer, there's no transfer charge / it's built into the price. If you buy from somewhere else, you can usually have it sent to your dealer, pay the charge ($30 for mine), buy a stamp in SS, and have the dealer add it to SS. I've bought many cans from non-SS sites like Capitol Armory, Hahnson Bros, THSF, Bauer, and had the local shop put it in SS to let them run the paperwork since they have all my info and it's convenient. Bought my most recent TBACs from Capitol Armory and submitted them that way.

I've been very pleased with Silencer Shop. I asked the if thy plan on carrying Rex Silentium and another fairly new brand of can, and they said they were looking into them. So, hopefully that means SS will start opening up new inventory options. 👍🏼

I walked into silencer shop one day. It was packed and I never got helped after like 45 minutes and left.
I walked into cap and one guy was there picking his up tying up the front desk guy, I waited a few moments and someone else came out to help me. I’ve now gotten all of mine from them.

I've used them both but I prefer CA and would recommend them over SS.

I’ve used both but only use Capitol Armory now. The guys at CA treat my like a personal friend, remember my name and don’t try and sell me stuff I don’t want but will always mention that gadget I need or may desire. Great prices and no pressure service.

I like what SilencerShop has done for the industry with the Kiosks and lobbying but my last 2 transactions have shown no customer care. Most pissed about a transfer of an M16 that got screwed up and I was the one contacting them after a month delay where they knew of the issue and not doing anything to correct. Once contacted they were not apologetic, even though the mistake was on them. Seriously considered having the gun form 3’ed to another shop to finish the transfer after that encounter.

I’ve had 2 different SOT‘s in the past and if I had an issue come up on a customer’s paperwork, especially if my fault I would have been extremely apologetic and rushing to correct the issue. Mistakes happen but how they are dealt with shows character.

Been buying from CA for years. Great customer service, they will always answer your questions fast. Usually always have something in transit with them.

Silencer shop has been easy and responsive on the purchases. Ordered from CA and paid a small fee.

Additionally, if you are a resident in Texas CA can ship your can to you after approval. Be aware it will be signature required. I always drive down from DFW to pick up as I enjoy the crew at CA and like to say hello.

another vote for CA from me. Recently made the drive dowm there from DFW to pick up my first can from them and can say it was a very pleasant process.

All 4 of my suppressor purchases (3 transactions total) with Silencer Shop have been super smooth so far. And the kiosk and electronic fingerprint deal is BEYOND easy, if you have a kiosk at a nearby dealer. They have all been VERY quick and timely, and the DocuSign setup is beyond simple, and quick. I mean, it really is the easiest way to buy a suppressor. And once they have all your info and prints on file, buying a suppressor is as easy as buying shit off of Amazon...With only 1 extra step, and that is the DocuSign, which takes a whole extra 5 minutes out of your day. LOL

This last one (Sandman-S) took an extra 5 days on the Form 3, because of the recent influx of sales were pushing shipping times back a little, and it took a little extra time to get shipped to my SOT. But it got to the SOT today (2nd day shipping, because I called and was just checking to making sure everything was ok because of it showing no movement, and they sent it out FREE 2nd day, that same day, to my SOT) and it arrived today, and now my Form 4 has been e-filed to the ATF. Awaiting stamp cashing, and then the real wait begins.

Other than the extra few days on my most recent one due to the influx of sale and shipping, everything has been super smooth. And they have always been super helpful. I follow them on Instagram, and every time I have a question I can just DM them, and they will get back with me ASAP. Usually within the hour during the typical work hours. And even sometimes 8-9pm at night if they're online. They've always been super helpful from the very first phone call with me asking some newb anxiety questions, to now having a really good grasp on the process and how it all works and feeling very confident these days with a lot of knowledge I learned from them. And I highly recommend them because of that.

I have considered using other methods, because they don't carry certain brands of suppressors that I'm interested in, but my local SOT is "Powered By" and is fixing to have their own kiosk in a few weeks. And they can order me any brand suppressor I want. And because they're powered by SS, I can use their system with Single Shot trusts and stamps to buy cans that my dealer Form 3's to their location, from manufacturers or distributors that SS doesn't currently carry, and still use their system for my paperwork, to register my non-SS suppressor, so it will be just as simple and easy as it was buying directly from Silencer Shop. 👍🏼

I used Silencer Shop years ago, but I do all my transactions with Capitol Armory these days, including having items transferred into them to handle the Form 4’s. They’re the best, in my opinion.

Just bought my first and it was with SS. Super easy. Plan to look at CA and I like the idea from BigPrince.

I bought 12 suppressors all paid upfront in cash ok to wait if not in stock from CA awhile back because they offered the best price. HansohnBrothers only lost on price. Of all the dealers I requested pricing from, these two stood out for EXCELLENT customer service. Fast polite answers to my many questions etc. All but one of the remaining vendors were “ok”. SilencerShop was completely unhelpful. In the future for me, it will be CA or Hansohn (I don’t see any large cash purchases of cans in the near future, but who knows? The wife is who pushed me to quit waiting & saving last time!!).

About half my cans from both, starting when SS was a storefront and before all the kiosk and Powered By stuff started. Good people, helpful, and easy to deal with. Now have bought cans with their Kiosk setup and never an issue.
Use CA as well, bought 6 of my last 8 from them. Great to deal with, responsive and helpful, and had stuff in stock that others didnt.

The fact that I have to choose between two great places is a fantastic problem to have.

Biggest hassle for me is the trust stuff for users.

I've bought all 4 silencers from SS so far with a 5th in the process. The only things I've ordered from CA were Novekse receivers. Of which their website glitched and allowed me to place an order for an upper receiver they didn't have. I'm on day 346 for that receiver and there's still no end in sight. I stopped emailing them about it last year. They don't have any indication as to when Noveske will get them the part but it's after the refund date so I have no reason to cancel it.

That is out of CA's hand though so I don't hold it against them. The people at CA have been responsive via email and phone. I may end up buying a silencer from them if they have the next one in stock when the time comes. But man would I like to get that receiver... lol.

I vote CA! And if you're law enforcement or military some of the manufactures will give a discount. Another thing to think about is what dealer you have your suppressor shipped to to wait for your individual form 4 on. If that dealer is also a shooting range, most will let you go in to the range, check out your suppressor, go shoot it on their range, and check it back in. This made the wait a little better because I could actually shoot my can rather than just fondle it. It actually helped me sell a can that I got in, shot, then realized it was fucking huge and more than I wanted to deal with for my situation (Thunderbeast 338 SR). Because it was still on the form 3 from the manufacturer to my FFL and I had not applied for my form 4 yet, I was able to resell it and ship it out of state without having to pay the tax twice etc.

I didn't do that with my first 3 cans, because my local Powered By Silencer Shop dealer did not have a kiosk at that time. So I had them shipped to the nearest dealer with a kiosk for my fingerprints, which was 75 miles away... Unfortunately they don't have a range, but I shouldn't be but a month or 2 out from being able to go pick them up and bring them back home (hopefully 🤞🏼). But my local SOT is also a machine gun range, and they are a "Powered by" Silencer Shop, so I had my Sandman-S sent there, so I can have conjugal visits with it while waiting. Wish I had done that with my first 3, but oh well. Hopefully those stamps will come back really soon, so I can go get them and bring them home. And from now on, I'll be using my local SOT so I can shoot them while waiting. 👍🏼
