Barrel threading?

I am getting ready to send out my .308 and .22-250 bolt rifles to have the barrels threaded for suppressors. I am thinking about having them both threaded to the same pitch and using Area 419 Hellfire Universal Adapters on both rifles. Both the suppressor I have in jail right now and the TBAC that I am saving up for have Area 419 mounts for the adapter. I really don't need a brake on either rifle so my thought is the universal adapter with a thread protector for when I don't use the suppressor. Both rifles have Remington Varmint contour barrels. If I do them with the same thread pitch would you recommend the 5/8 x 24 or something different?

5/8x24. It's a common pitch and leaves you with other options in the future should you change your mind about a break. You will actually get better suppression with a break that goes into the can. It will also extend the life of your first baffle.

Edit: some breaks work better than others. Check out a guy on youtube called silencer student. He has lots of videos with actual metered testing.

What is recommended depends on your barrel diameter. My barrel is 9/16 thread because 5/8 wouldn't fit with the muzzle diameter.

With the varmint contour you should be able to do 5/8-24, so I'd go that route since it's so common

Besides, making sure you have enough meat on each barrel to thread them and have a solid shoulder, also think about down the road. I thought I would get one pistol and one rifle suppressor.... 16 suppressors later.

The reason different calibers use different threads is to avoid miss matching. Suppressors are addictive so expect to end up with a bunch.

I have guns with Silencerco ASR QD for 5.56, 6.5 Grendel, 6.5 Creedmoor, 300BO and 458 SOCOM. I have suppressors that use the ASR mounts in 5.56, 7.62mm and .460.

As you can imagine putting any suppressor other than .460 on the 458 Socom would be tragic. I have to be careful or I have badness.

Same thing can happen with direct thread.

If I had it to do over again I would have made it fool proof by picking a thread or QD system and designate it to guns of that specific bore or smaller. There is nothing wrong with only having one patern for everything 7.62 and smaller as long as you never get a suppressor smaller than 7.62.

I currently have a Gemtech G5 that I have had almost 15 years for my 5.56 AR-15. It rides in the gun good of my cruiser with my work AR. Right now I have a TBAC .22 takedown and a Griffin Armament Bushwhacker 46 in ATF jail. I am waiting for my dealer to get a Rugged Surge in stock and after that I am considering either a Gen 2 TBAC Ultra 7 or .338. I just need to get the money together for the last 2. I am looking at the Area 419 Suppressor Adapters because they will fit everything except the Surge. That will go on my AR-10 .308 and AR-15 6.8 SPC for hog hunting. The Bushwhacker will go on my bolt action .338 LM, .308, .22-250, and .300 WM until I get the TBAC. I keep looking at the Rugged Obsidian 45 for pistols but I am in no rush for that right now.

Yep, just like was said, even though it's a .22 caliber, I'd still do ALL centerfire bolt-action rifles in 5/8x24 just because it really opens up a lot of future options for other cans, without having to buy a bunch of different mounts. And if you decide to get a direct-thread can like the Sandman-Ti, or something like that, then it will still work on every rifle.
