Just interested to see how y’all run your setups... I’m starting to accumulate many precision based guns over my SBR AR’s with red dots... Do y’all outfit all your rifles with glass for complete packages or bounce your scopes around and take the time to re-zero at the range going with a QD mount.

Yup, appropriate sighting system for everything. Too much hassle to mount and sight in each time.

Agreed. I can see how it would be a pain in the ass to move optics around. I currently don’t but was tossing around the idea. It doesn’t seem too different though then having a multi cal system. Just take note of the change and be sure to mount in the same spot every time. Was curious if anybody took on that way of operation here.

I’m over here with a ZCO, 2 TT’s, Kahles, and a Leupy mark 5. Just picked up an AI AXSA.... Something about buying glass hurts my soul 😂

Like the others here, I don't typically like bouncing optics around. It gets expensive though.

I do have a 5-25 and a 3.3-18 on single piece mounts that I interchange every once in awhile depending. Torque them to the same weight and honestly I don't notice any zero shift.

I don’t switch my glass out either, BUT I will jump on a deal if I see one and just put the glass on my closet shelf for a rainy day.

I guess you can say my scope box collection is a quarter the size of my wife’s show box collection, but I’m will to bet my collection cost a stuff tom more that her’s. But let’s keep that between than men and women her on the hide!!! Please 😭😭😭🤣

I try to buy good quality optics and gear but most of the time I move them around. I don’t know how people can afford to buy so many pieces of expensive gear.

You’d be better focusing on one rifle.

I like variety though and have a pile of diff rifles with scopes. You end up wanting a can for each rifle also.

Agreed. Very easy to move around. I can’t justify having $1000s of dollars sitting on rifles i don’t shoot much. I’d like to but then I think it’s a waste. I have 3 nice scopes in Spuhr mounts I shuffle between 5 rifles. Each to their own though, personal choice. No doubt I’ll have 5 nice scopes soon though 🤷🏽‍♂️

The cans I weirdly have covered lol. Have 15 of those damn things. They’re super addicting and SilencerShop/CA is too easy lol.

yeah I’ve been debating on it (bouncing my ZCO around between my AXSA & KAC LPR) but I fear my OCD will kick in looking at a “naked” rifle without a scope on it and being set up and zero’d... then I look at the thousands upon thousands of dollars sitting there and go “wtf am I doing” 😂

Everything gets an optic for me. I may still switch them around for fun or necessity and I’ve also got one extra scope. If I had a shit ton of rifles I would maybe try to scope at least half since it’s more likely one or more won’t be shot every time.

This is the very obvious difference between a gun SHOOTER and a gun COLLECTOR. If you have to ask this question, I already know which one you are.

Lol.... oh noooo, you can never be both 😂 what a dumb thing to say. Everyone on this forum shoots guns and also “collects” to a certain degree... but you know... money.

In the past I attempted to have multiple rifles and therefore make certain compromises in optics. What I figured out was that I’d much rather have one ATACR than 2 (insert $1000 scope here.) Everyone has different priorities and budgets. Just saying.... there’s a lot of gun collectors out there.

I thought about swapping and just couldn’t do it so I bought glass for each one. It is expensive but I like to shoot them all and rotate which ones a lot and didn’t want the hassle.

Don't be so sure.

Me exactly too 😂

For me, it's not exactly a 1:1 scope : rifle correspondence, but it's close. Each grab-and-go setup has its own dedicated optic.

Sure it's expensive up front, but if you've got quality glass, it's more like illiquid value than just money burned. I offloaded some low power Leupolds a while ago, and recouped almost all of what I had initially spent on them.

Optic on every rifle, set up and torqued correctly. My shooting improved considerably when I stopped collecting new shit and screwing with things.

I shoot the same rifle, in the same configuration, with the same load all the time now. I don't care about the latest greatest whizbang gadgets and optics anymore. I bet there's even some improvement that can be made on my load if I put in the time but I haven't bothered.

Variables suck. Consistency matters more to me than just about anything else at this point. If I could start over I'd have saved a ton of money and ammo at the range fucking with screws and sighting in rifles.

To each his own though.

I’ve wrestled with this and came to the same conclusions a lot of you have:

1) It’s a silly amount of money, far more than the ammo I spend zeroing

2) I’ll probably end up buying dedicated scopes anyway 🙄

Lol exactly.. I thought about using the ZCO between those two rifles but the agonizing pain of re-zeroing and messing with shit doesn’t seem worth it. Waiting for Leupold to get some mark5 pr1 mils in stock so I can snag one
