Genesis Ballistics Solutions--Android Now Available!!

Hi,

Patagonia's program Coldbore is Windows.

Sincerely,
Theis

I was looking for something to run on my desktop as well as on a rugged windows tablet, so that might be worth trying.
I may have to try that out, kind of sucks that you have to buy the expensive license for each device you want to use instead of per user.

Of course I'll be buying Genesis Ballistics as soon as it is out (Android).

For desktop use and printing stuff etc. you'd want to pony up for the desktop version of Coldbore. For portable use something like Bluestacks may work to run the Android version provided the device supported virtualization.

Dont know if this was asked, but how about a rifle/barrel journal so you can keep track of rounds down range, last time cleaned, etc, etc.?

Hi,

Sorry but we are not really interested in that. There are plenty of options for log books and shot journals.

Genesis is designed as a ballistics solver, not a documenting journal.

What is your expectation for an official release @THEIS

I am assuming that iOS is first out the gate?

Not a deal breaker for me. I just thought it would be nice to have it all (ballistics solver, rifle journal, etc) all in one handy package.

Im looking forward to the release on iOS.

I guess it depends on the global market you’re going after. If North America is the primary market, I would go with iOS if it were my product.

Hi,

Everything is pretty much waiting on Apple and Adroid to approve our developer accounts so the app can be migrated from the testing service to the respective hosting services.

Apple is extremely intrusive as to information required to be submitted to them for review.

So once we have all the paperwork process approved and certified it will be an easy and fast transition to app going live. Until then we are at the mercy of iOS and Android app systems.

O...and both versions will be released at the same time, lolol

Sincerely,
Theis

I'm assuming your developers already thought about this, but generally on Android you can load apps onto your phone from sources other than the Google Play store. It's not as convenient and click here all done for the user. I'm guessing the customer support headaches make it not worthwhile to do, but rather just keep as a backup plan in case Google/Apple go hard anti 2A all the way.

Just curious as to why at the same time? If for instance Apple drags their feet months beyond android or vice versa, just wondering.

Thanks, looking forward to it!

Go Android go! seriously maybe Google is also a PITA. The good news is we are close to get Genesis on our phones, I'm positive the wait will be over soon.

2021 or 2022?

Hi,

Please let me know how fast you can get an app developed, tested and submitted to iOS and Android platforms, lolol

More importantly please send me a quote and delivery schedule for the iOS and Android required encryption side of the application.

Any idea as to the requirements that iOS and Android require to even setup a developer account for the application to be hosted?

Can you please answer as to why iOS mandates the, website, application encryption, etc etc to be usable BEFORE they allow you to register as an Apple Developer? LOLOLOL

Can you please answer as to why D&B takes 4 weeks to provide a DUNS when their own website says 4 days? Without that number iOS developer application sits motionless.

BUT............The train begins movement once again :)

The article was good. I could see Genesis sales going through the roof. Especially with the 22 crowd.

Any guestmate how far behind IOS release will be vs Android?
It’s already been stated and confirmed that both platforms are to be released at the same time. ETA: they will now be released separately per Theis’s post below.

Personally, this is the first time I’m actually ready to change from the original Ballistic app for iOS that I loaded some ten or so years ago and have used since with decent success. And yes, I have wanted more, but other than Coldbore and FFS, I haven’t seen anything else that intrigued and inspired me.

This one does it for me and my $35 is waiting patiently to be well spent.

Excellent review by Portal, thank you @Darek Topyla for that. In addition, seeing as your site is available in English, I’ll be spending more time reading your blogs and posts.

Hi,

When Google decides to update the app from "In Review" to "Approved" we will be able to take your money on the Android side of the house.

Once that side of the house is officially launched the iOS side will be slightly behind it. Upon several meetings it has been determined to roll them out individually so that we can better track and more importantly RESPOND/REPAIR any issues.
Launching both systems at the same time would just slow that process down for us.

Theis
