I got an email from Ranier Arms and clicking around I saw this interesting product:

It looks like it's only a hair higher than low rings but it has a return to zero QD feature.

It seems ideal for a bolt action with a one piece sloped rail.

Beside that listing, I can't find any info from my searching...

It's a QD mount. Meant for ARs and the like, not bolt actions. I mean you can use it on whatever gun you want but why do you need a QD mount for a precision bolt action? I did use Bobro mount on my AR15. Seemed to work. But meh... for a bolt action a good set of rings does the trick.

It's much lower than an AR mount, it would need a riser to work on an AR.

To me that's a good thing, if I match the slope of my AR riser to my bolt action rail, I can use one of my expensive scopes on both.

I'm also trying to reduce the size of my rifles for discrete carry purposes (don't want to scare the urbanites).

If it's bobro it's good to go. Best qd mounts out there. Have used them on bolt guns and semis for years and they have the best r2z of any qd system.

I just got my Bobro yesterday.

Wow, it sure is nice. The machining just oozes quality.

According to an email from Bobro, the height over the rail is 0.947".

I installed my Tract Toric 30mm scope last night and it seems to fit but I think the bottom of the turret bell is touching the middle of the mount or keeping the scope from rotating to vertical in the mount.

It's close enough to vertical that I can't tell if it's a problem yet.

If it was 0.974" instead of 0.947" height, there would be no problem. On the other hand, the Toric 30mm turret bell doesn't hang too far under the tube so I think this might be a common issue.

For my scope it would have been nicer if the whole mount was 2-3 rail slots wider, the levers kind of crowd my side focus knob.

Best case: my scope will level and it will work fine.

Worst case: I'll have to clamp it in a milling machine and take a shallow cut between the rings to get clearance.

That would almost be a sin on a mount machined this nice.

I think I'm going to ask Bobro about the turret bell clearance and measure my scope.

I measured my scope, the turret bell flat is about 0.125" below the bottom of the scope tube.

Here are a couple pictures of the clearance issues:

That is why MPA makes several mounts with different heights. All of them will work with a 56 mm objective, but the small difference in heights will let you clear the bottom of the mount, while at the same time, you keep your scope as low as possible.

Very interested in both this scope and mount combination. Are there any reviews on this scope here o the Hide?

You definitely need the scope to sit flush/flat in the rings. If the bottom of the turret housing is touching the middle/base of the one-piece mount, it's a no-go. You won't be able to tighten the rings down properly and it will place undo stress on the scope tube.

Anyone own this bobro compact mount ?

I love the bobro QD mount on my AR15 and this compact dual lever one looks great for a bolt action rifle.

However the issue flyer ran into is really scaring me!
Any first hand experience/feedback on this mount ?

Apparently there is another model with higher rings that can be see at the end of this video :

Sadly, this model is nowhere to be found, even on the official Bobro website...

Stumbled upon this thread trying to find if a razor would fit in the 34mm version.
I have the 30mm version and can say a 5-25 pst will not fit because of the turret body. I made mine fit with very little work so it can be done.
I love the mount and how low it is, my only wish is that this one had levers on the right so it didn't interfere with the paralax knob, but it's still very operable.

Has anyone tried the Vudu 5/25 in this mount? And did you have any problems?

I did one a while back, outside of being super heavy for a 30mm scope I found it to perform very well for the price point. It does not have the greatest FOV either which is something to consider

For the OP, I’ve had Bobro before and really liked it. I’ve also run into bottoming out the turret housing on low mounts, if I want QD I use ERA-TAC QD rings and have been very happy with those.
