Hi everyone... Miss all you guys! I'll get back shooting soon, but pushing to get this up and running. Please spread the word if you can! This really needs to get kicked off, COSSA is a very top notch range. Awesome venue for shooting.

Here's the deal.... Rod is the MD at COSSA in Bend, OR. He runs the GBPR (great basin prec rifle). He runs Fri and Sat, out to 1 mile and sun is his gas guns to 1100yds. He wants to keep the gas gun portion for his locals and run a few PRS stages after gas gun match. Feel the water, see if he has a big enough interest to get full club match going.

Very low key practice, sometimes they dont score, they just have fun sunday. Practice will be an open format, all stages hot.

Any MD's who wants to get to know Rod, and possibly help with big matches, that would be great. My health limits me these days, but I think I can help get him up and running, any additional help would be greatly appreciated.

If you see the GBPR match on the COSSA calendar(GBPR), remember, it'll be a few stages for practice after gas guns GG is 8-11am and PRS 11 to 3pm. Good news is, you can run bolt guns during gas guns to get good dope in the morning. Same $25 for each full day.

No water or power, outhouses everywhere, Bend is 20min for a hotel, prineville is 40min out, Redmond 40min. We will be in the big brown building Rod just built. GPS Cords 43.88985567615544, -120.95227074265239.
Between both styles of matches on sun, you'd be around 80rds total. Gas gun they are belly firing. These locals need to get up on props and out of prone!
His GG is 200 to 1100+ and the PRS practice after GG will be 200 to 1100yds off props. 4 stages most likely, barricade, tank trap, rooftop, ect....

If he has a good turnout and interest, he might set up 2nd sunday for full 10 stage club matches.

Rod's email for anyone wanting additional info: [email protected] for times and gate code.

This sounds awesome. I live on Mt. Hood and really want to start doing PRS events. Do you need to be a COSSA member? Hopefully getting my first expensive scope shortly and then my Rem 700 should be ready for long range.

My buddy and I are planning for the June session. It’ll be our first match/shoot of this kind.

No membership required, but email Rod to get a code for the gate to get in. Also, don't buy too much gear until shooting a match or two. Check out and try what other shooters are running before buying gear, bags, bipods, tripods, ect...

Re-check rod's email, [email protected]. COSSA doesn't run iPads or Tablets for practiscore, manual scoring and registration.

I agree NiteQwill, I hate FB too, but most shooters are too much in love with Mark Z to give up FB. LOL

Cool, it's nice once you get use to it. A lot to take in at first, but once you get the hang of practiscore, you never will go back to oldschool scoring. Online registration and match payments are nice too. Instant scoring and score postings online, I remember running the beta practiscore years ago. Practiscore sure has came a long way since then. good times!

Really fun match today, glad I came out for it.
Thought about it a lot post match and I wanted to brainstorm on two topics. Organization and how can we pull in more shooters?

Organization wise, if we want to make the prs style catch on locally we should put together some targets and positional stages on paper so we no longer hear the “what are we doing?” Listed with the obstacle, movements, time, and targets with distances the stage brief would be easy. Today was a great practice for what could become an amazing Sunday match.

How can we pull in more shooters? It’s undoubtedly hard right now regarding current ammo limitations. We still see people show up for the Saturday prone matches so is there just not enough word being passed around? Is it the ego crushing that comes along with learning positional? What can we do to spread the word? I also do not have Facebook and have limited reach with local shooters on my Instagram.

Anyways, thanks again to Rod and the RO’s for putting together a new challenge today. If there is some way I can help or if we want to get together to plot some ideas, or just practice together, I’d be glad to chat on here or on my Instagram if it’s easier (@ to.lr )

Tyler, check this out. Rock lake in a couple weeks would be a perfect match to get into the PRS. D.G.'s got a great venue! Hour south of Spokane, then MTD is a good one too after that. Ask for Raul, good guy, MTD rep. Jake and Jon Md's, top notch! It'll b a good match.

I assume this is the first weekend of every month? Also, is there a cap on participants? I was just checking out the COSSA website this afternoon looking for information regarding the gas gun events, and Google fu somehow led me to this thread.

Good times with these guys! This really helps people realize what the PRS is truly like, fellow shooters are so welcoming and helpful to new shootors. Worth getting to know a few of these guys!
