I'd think the Stim money would make the bad guys very busy this year. But the bad guy has to know the intended target to know what hobby they partake in. If they know you're a gun guy, then they will assume that you're buying gun stuff with your money. A car guy, buying car stuff.

I'd think that this theft was just an opportunity type theft. See a couple of gun cases in an unlocked car in a parking lot where tons of people come and go. Easy to walk up, reach in and load them in your car. Easy pickings.
