Leica 2800.com sleep mode aggravation

Hey guys, Hamilton Boykin from Leica here. I've introduced myself on other threads and wanted to do so here as well. If anyone needs help with their unit, please call or email me at (843) 532-2472 or [email protected] Thanks!

Oh, and about the batteries, using the BT function does eat them up pretty quick. A lot of folks are turning off their BT when they don't need it, as in, if they're using the app to program ballistics. Once the programming is done and transferred, BT is no longer needed. It doesn't help for use with a Kestrel, but otherwise does.

I see the 3500 supports Apple Watch, does the 2800 as well? I know, this isn't a BT question directly ;).

Slight deviation here, does the 2800 use the same square reticle that older Leicas used? (I cannot find a through the optic picture)

No sir, AppleWatch support and Class 3 laser are the differentiators between the CRF 2800 and the 3500.

Last update on the 2800.

Ranged known 2MOA targets from 300-1500 yards on a sunny morning. Hit every target (maybe berm) within 1-2 yards and without a bluetooth connection hiccup.

It’s working as advertised.

I just got mine. Still learning my way around; though I will say - using the app makes going through menus a lot easier. Though, with that said, you cannot change brightness to auto with the app - at least that I've found. I'm a bit surprised at the distances in my immediate AO, but in all honesty I've paced them out and figured out each light post is 100 yards and sure enough...

Hey guys, just a reminder that I don't get a chance to check in often, so if you need help, please feel free to email me. I'm out of the office until Monday, but I'll to help anyone if they have a time-sensitive issue.

Are there any updates on connection problems between the 2800.com and the Kestrel 5700? Has this been resolved by updates on either the Kestrel or the Leica? Would love to know as I really like it.

Yeah, I ordered the 3500.com after I was at the range in Hollister and another guy had it. He could quickly range the 2200yd target. It was painful with the TerrapinX. Once it arrived, I noticed the bluetooth worked much better--none of the usual BS with failing to reconnect, etc. It doesn't seem as rugged as the TerrapinX, but it works better for me.

Thanks! Unfortunately the 3500.com is not available anymore in Europe. I think they had to pull it for the type of laser it uses not being allowed for civilian use in Europe...So the 2800.com is the only real option (from Leica)

Sad to hear your not happy with the Terrapin X as this one is more then double the cost over here.

The TerrapinX is a great unit. It's just that the Bluetooth is pretty rough. I'm keeping it because it works with the Garmin Tactix Delta AB. But for most of what I do I think the 3500.com is a better option.

I spotted a 3500.com for sale with warranty for aprox 100 euro more then a new 2800.com. Worth it?
