After about 6 months from start to finish its finally completed.

We went out got a rough 100 yard zero. Then stretched it out to 1880 yards. This animal put atips on target with only 48 moa... and with cutting edge rounds it took 40 flat.

I'll deffinetly be updating when I shoot it more... but pretty impressed with first day attempts

Very nice!
I have a .338 LM, would I be able to get an extra barrel reamed and switch barrels (and thus calibers) at will? I realize the cartridge would not feed from the magazine...

I was going to use my tac 338 action because everything does work if you shot a 338 lapua bolt face.. but decided to go with a entire new rifle... so yes you can use it and switch it at will

Any updates? I hope you’re still shooting it.

So I have shot it the thing is a animal for sure

43 moa to 1730 yards.

Still trying to decide on what projectiles I want to run, berger or the atips,

I used atips with the imr 8133 and the speed was a bit slower then I would like out of it, so just need to take the time to work it up

This shortage of everything is deffiently making it difficult to want to shoot this alot right now. And with no ulr matches happening soon I just been messing with all my other elr rifles lol

RL50 gives me better speeds and less pressure than 8133 with 300 ATIPS

Alright well I guess the great hunt for powder starts again lol.... what weight did you end up with?
Take my data with a grain of salt because I think the barrel is slow but:
300 ATIP RL50
27” Bartlein 9.3 twist
215m Peterson 0.003” neck tension

I got slight extractor marks around 118gn which was 2911fps.
I got slight bolt lift issues at 122gn which was 3024fps

75-100 rounds later the barrel speed up and 115.2gn gave me 2935fps. I try to keep my load at least 100fps below where I have bolt lift issues. 2900fps is my target speed. 114.8 should be a safe bet for that. I’ve been focusing on another rifle so I haven’t completed my 33XC load development.

Wow it is kinda slow with 111 gr Imr 8133 it was doing 3120.. no pressure really so I think I can turn it up a bit more for sure

I’m not sure why it’s so slow. I’ve heard of guys getting pressure around 3300fps with 300gn bullets. Typically 30-32” barrels. Most guys settle for 3200fps plus or minus some fps. It seems to be the area where a lot of people have the best accuracy.

I wonder if you lost alot because you have a short barrel for it. I think mine is 34

There’s no doubt that 27” isn’t helping the cause but I would suppose that at least 3000fps with the 27” should be a safe load without any pressure signs. That’s just not the case. some barrels are slower than others. My buddy has a 30” that can hit 3250fps without any pressure signs.

That’s a huge difference of mine producing 2900fps (and yet I have slight pressure signs with the extractor marks) and his 3250fps (no pressure) with just a 3” difference. His was a Kreiger barrel

Mine is a Bartlein 32 and it will run 3200 easily with 50 BMG but had better luck with rl50 seems to have lower spread and runs 3200 easily

anyone trying to reproduce this?
paul's linky
275-grain Cutting Edge bullets reaches 3,556 fps on the new BAT Machine CTH dual-port action, with a 34-inch Bartlein barrel with 1:8-inch twist
I bet that thing's a barrel burner

I may try after my barrel gets spun up and I get brass 😀😀😀

I have been told from a few to keep the Berger 300 under 3200 fps

Tubbs said about 3100 fps for best accuracy on the 33 xc with 300 gr lead bullet.

Lets do it, Bartlein needs to make a fast twist 35 cal barrel...

The only barrel maker that i talked with that would make a fast twist 35 cal was Blackstar .that was 2 years ago.asked about a 1-9. said no problem.

Don't think they are going to stop production of the other calibers just to make a handful of .35 to satisfy a very small market. no money in it,not to mention only a couple of mono bullets available and no match jacketed bullets. maybe further down the road if someone decides spend the money to test what we have available.

Bartlein makes a normal run of 358 cal barrels. It’s no different than anything else bigger than 338.

I am trying to recreate using 300-grain Bergers. Having trouble ordering the action.

Ramshot LRT looks like a good option
Been playing with it in mine with 300 Berger and Matchkings. I have a 28” barrel and with 122 grains get about 3050 fps with both bullets. This is somewhat of an upper-mid load. Mine is on a Savage 112 single shot action and seems to pressure out rather soon.

Does anyone have reliable load data using H50bmg with 300g Bergers and a 32" barrel?
I get about the same performance as the LRT load above with 120 grains of H50BMG. I have also tried RL50, RL33, and even RL26 with some lighter bullets (236 gr Hammer Hunter) just to see what it would do.
