Mk 13 Mod 0 stock

Maybe I haven’t been paying attention, but this is the first time I have seen a qrty code on one of these stocks?

Just as @m1marty said a few posts above this one, there's a few out there. I wish I would have counted the number of stocks that had UID tags on them, but I failed to do so. If I were to guess, maybe about a dozen? Out of the 20 stocks in my personal collection, only 3 of them have UID tags. A few other people have posted theirs in this thread over the years as well.

The UID tags were not adopted until Jan 1,2005 by DOD. Tags applied to rifles in service plus all manufactured after that date. Those on MK13 Mod 0 thru 3 stocks obviously applied to rifles still in service 2005 forward. Check Wikipedia for adoption info on the UID tags....

Chris Higgins at Red Bull Armory is currently taking orders for new Mk13 Mod 7 kits! In order to make this an easier process for customers, he's splitting up the payments for the kits so that it's less of a financial burden up front. Accuracy International requires a minimum order of 50 chassis, so Chris needs to get 50 people to sign up for these kits in order to make this group buy happen. About half of the kits are spoken for right now, so this project is close to becoming reality!

If anyone here wants to purchase a Mod 7 kit, please contact Chris directly, his information is on the attached documents. This will be the last time AI will produce these chassis, so if you want a Mod 7 build this is your chance! Orders need to be in no later than May 31st.

any chance I can still hop on this train?

I spoke to chris a few weeks ago. He ended up getting a loan to cover the other half of the minimum order for the mod 7 project and its a go! I would give him a call asap and see if you can get a kit at the pre-order package. The standard release will be slightly more expensive than the pre-order.

Google Red Bull Armory for Chris’s number. Leave a message if he doesn’t answer and he will get back to you.

I was talking to some of my old Army buds this weekend. I was telling them I've learned more from y'all about the rifle we had than I knew when I was carrying it. I'm putting together a tribute rifle of our old MK13 and I had to come here to get the specifics because none of them remembered any of these details. I did learn from them though that there was no real consistency. Each team seemed to have it in a different configuration. Same for our MK12's, some had collapsible stocks some were fixed, some had Knights rails some were fiberglass tubes. At any rate, between y'all and some of my old pictures I'll get this bad boy built. I appreciate the input guys, keep up the great info.

Here is my mk13 I am wanting to get built here one of these days, where did you guys get those technical repair manual with black binding at? Also on the look out for one of those dated turner slings, a inventory tag, and some engraved NF rings, if anyone wants part with any of those items I’ll make it worth it for you. Seems like I am always late to the party, really enjoy everyone’s posts. Thanks

Is everyone using the large recoil block? I bought one but it looks like the Freeland rail is set back too far and would be in the way of the third screw. I'm trying to decide whether or not it's worth the trouble to do the glass work of moving the rail forward. I never even noticed the third action screw on the rifle we had at work. What say yall?

95% of people are using issued stocks, so they are all provisioned for the third action screw.

Scored a action that’s semi close to the number taped on my case. Anyone know where to get a sling, manual, and a inventory tags at? Thanks

I think the Mod 0 used a Turner Saddlery leather sling, which should be easy to find commercially. If you're interested in using an as-issued sling, I have several MRT and date marked M1907 slings available.

Both Turner Military 54 inch slings (dated) and USGI slings were used from what I've seen.

Turners are date stamped, so finding national match with date stamps within the mk13-0 timeframe is actually fairly hard. That being said, they also used m1907 slings.

That’s beautiful right there. Early grey finish under the field spray paint on that A2 stock? And how does the sling attach at the front, lol?
Yes, early gray stock with a ridiculously awesome paint job! The sling is attached to the sling swivel that's hanging between the bipod legs. The bipod leg is blocking it from view, but you'll be able to see the swivel when I post pics of the bottom of the stock (obviously no sling attached for this photo as it would block the bottom of the stock).

Ah, got it! Totally forgot the end of the little clamp that the Harris Bipods use to grip onto the stud can also be used to attach a sling swivel.

I have had a couple items sitting around for a MK13 build and have decided it is not going to happen. So I figured I would see if anyone is looking for AICS 2.0 chassis green skins, Badger IMUS and Badger rings. I figured guys in this thread should get first dibs. If you don't want it here I will delete.
National match sling ?

I’m interested in the badger rings and will send you a pm.

Just got back another from @RWSGunsmithing . Huge shoutout to Robert for making these to spec and working around the authentic parts with a respect and craftsmanship. Eagerly awaiting the next pair.

Wow that is amazing! I cannot wait to get my rifle shipped out to him. These rifles are every bit as cool as a m40a1 builds.

I can't recommend him highly enough. I tend to stick with a VERY short list of builders over the last nearly 20 years. He now makes the 5th guy I've used in that time and I'm very pleased with the results. First group on paper with my 0 was in the .4s with factory Sig 191.
Having been in the 40a1 game since they first dropped here all those years ago- I see these stocks following the same path. They are steadily climbing more and more.
