I guess that Xiden actually meant building back the Taliban better.

Here's what they have to work with!

But don't worry... they don't have the Interwebs or Smartphones or trained cadre to teach them how to use it.

Build back better indeed!

They didn’t get very far with the Soviet crap in the early 00s. I think some of this stuff will magically blow up and somehow, we will have “nothing” to do with it. Shit show has started, tickets are about to get cheap and then we get into a favorite saying of mine. “Admit nothing, deny everything, make counter accusations.”

Blackhawks minimum 39 units probability a lot more, news reported that they have more then Australia which has 39.

Which are most likely going to just be expensive paper weights or sold off. There is next to zero chance the tolly bon bakery gets to play with them in any meaningful way

I’m not sure that’s correct.

There are a lot of people in the Taliban who were educated at Oxford and city College London and Harvard who returned home to fight the fight. There is some myth that the Taliban are just a bunch of ignorant goat fuckers. The reality is that they are full of engineers and scientists and technologist who just happen to be committed to a jihad.

If you don’t think they can learn to fly helicopters, decodeCrypto passwords, figure out satellite radios, fix MRAPs and Humvees. You got a learning curve ahead of you.
Do you really think they don’t have people here in the United States who can order Humvee parts from eBay and ship them out of the country via FedEx? Do you think they don’t have English speakers who can figure out the manuals?

We just created one of the biggest high-tech terrorist groups in the world. By we I mean Joe Biden.

Well done China

Sad but true^^Fuckers, or fuckers like them figured out how to fly commercial jets.

Not to mention all the biometric scanners and database....

I seriously doubt that their is enough people that are educated and skilled enough to keep a fleet of that equipment running. Bunch of Helo mechanics among the goat herders? Color me skeptical. How much maintenance does a black hawk need per flight hour? How much training does a pilot need? Who’s gonna teach them? I seriously doubt that the goat herders are capable of utilizing the equipment in any real way. Hell the Afghan army sure couldn’t without heavy US involvement.

also, blackhawks, a29s, MRAPs, etc are all just expensive target practice for any 4th gen+ fighter with zero risk. A handful of f16s would make quick work of any of them in any real fight.

100% agree.

on the Eve on our second deployment Top said “make no mistake we killed a lot last time, but all the dumb ones are dead, this only gets more difficult”

There are a lot of well educated supporters of Islamic terror groups.
Always mystified me how someone with a decent education, could believe the religious bullshit.
Probably just the indoctrination from childhood.
Osama bin Laden was a qualified engineer..... which simply goes towards validating my view on fucken engineers.
😉

Apparently that airstrike against an ISIS truck was a giant fuckup as well.
Ever seen hardcore jihadis ride a golfcart and then evaporate into thin air just before the missile struck?. That is what that airstrike was ,a golfcart damaged and no human remains to be found.

They didn’t get very far with the Soviet crap in the early 00s.

I saw PLENTY of Soviet crap that was still running. I will say they passed often on Motorpool Thursday's needing more than a bit of PMCS but they were running around.

As for how long the gear will be operational ? Folks greatly underestimate the taliban

Aircraft aside from maybe Russian ones will not be operated, simply to hard for Taliban to maintain.

Vehicles will be operational for decades to come. Maybe not the Mraps and M113 but not because of the maintenance but because they do not really need them, and they are too costly to run for the benefits they bring. Basic maintenance and cannibalizing spares they can run for a long time.

Taliban actually had an airforce well into late '90s even flew Migs 21s . The main difference this time around is the absolute lack of plan and ineptitude of NATO trainers to teach Afghanis in comparison to the Soviets. Soviet schooled cadre maintained and flew planes for Taliban , Northern Alliance and then for ANA. Just for ball park comparison US trained ANA lasted 11 days , Soviet DRA for three and a half years against much stronger opposition. Same story in Iraq. In both cases, it was a grift designed to be reliant on US contractors .

By the end of the 1990s, the military of the Taliban maintained five supersonic MIG-21MFs and 10 Sukhoi-22 fighter-bombers. They also held six Mil Mi-8 helicopters, five Mi-35s, five L-39Cs, six An-12s, 25 An-26s, a dozen An-24/32s,

They skyjacked a Russian cargoplane in 1995 with 2 mig fighters. So 100% proven they operated Migs and at least basic radar and coms to vector the planes for intercept.

I'll take an M777. Actually, maybe 2 or 3 spares, as well.

POTATUS

president Xiden

Only way I know of, where Jimmy Carter gets bumped up to 3rd from the bottom, and the oBOMBination gets bumped up to 2nd from the bottom.

Of worst 'leaders' in history.

Just so you know next time when the Chinese retreat from Afghanistan , Taliban haul of captured gear will not be nearly as glamorus

Chinese might leave some scooters and some gear of Alliexpress

Chinese combat scooter is real.

As these are human-powered, the range is limited by operator and terrain.

Running and effective are two different animals. I can’t count the number of Soviet era “graveyards” we played in. If you remember back to highway 1 in the Gulf War, there were 1000s of Soviet era machines burning. The question is not IF, but when western forces decide it is time to make this newly acquired equipment into the new American equipment graveyards. Mostly covert ops will go implode them in place, but the gubment will have to save some kind of face. For that, there will be spectacular air shows with bomb and gun runs. All published live on various news outlets for your viewing pleasure.

Aaaaaand you think we didn't train the ANA forces, who just basically surrendered to the Taliban, to use all if that stuff?

You really think pedo joe and the ho are going to do this?

Even worse, our inept government left them the Biometric scanners and databases they need to identify exactly who amongst the surrendered is trained.
What are the chances our moronic gov
had the foresight to not identify an Afghans job title in that database?

I've no doubt they'll have US trained pilots shortly. They'll be using that equipment against thier domestic enemies for years.

They will have no choice. It will be done with or without their blessing, but credit will land on them. There will be a bumbling mumbling press conference to describe the decision process and ultimate mission approval, but will be a show to make the masses believe they are the shot callers. The real decision makers will never be known or heard from.

Before you get all wet and excited, its more likely that US will actually provide intel and support to the Taliban than fight them.

When US signed surrender in Doha it literally stated that the Taliban is to turn into anti-terror force, and US will recognize the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and continue funding ....

I guess they found themselves a pilot..

Supposedly a Taliban Blackhawk spotted flying over Kandahar, with a dead fucker hanging from it.

Yes but it was my understanding that they were completely incapable of doing it on their own due to lack of training/ability

Tells the guy that literally signed a semiconditional surrender and promised to continue financing Afghanistan indefinitely

90+% of the money wasted on Afghan War never left the US , It was great business while it lasted.

Meanwhile US and UK ,Ireland pushed through a UN resolution to hold the Taliban ''accountable'', will only send bags of cash if they keep Kabul Airport open :ROFLMAO: and every Afghan free to travel abroad. French Macron even wanted to suggest a UN-controlled freedom fries zone in Kabul ?WTF

I suggest if folks want some more Afghani immigrants, please set up direct flights to US, UK ,France and whoever supported this resolution waive visa requirements, but really STFU with the feel-good posturing. The rest of us do not want more Afghan economic migrants and cultural 'enrichment' they bring.

Thank you @sirhrmechanic for this little gem, I just posted it to Facebook with the following text:
"In case you were wondering what happens when you elect a President that can't even form a complete sentence here is a quick little infographic on how many and what types of weapons fell into Taliban hands last week (all numbers verified by the General Accounting Office)."
