All China wants is the raw materials and influence in the area.
It doesn't matter how stupid / brutal / primitive your "government" is, you HAVE to have money to pay your goons/police/military/enforcers or they aren't going to do the work for long. In addition most of those "leaders" tend to quietly have a taste for the finer things in life and also supporting their large harems/families/relatives etc. That takes money, specifically money the western infidels/capitalist pigs/fascists/oppressors etc. will accept in return for the stuff you want.
The Chinese will let the Taliban take care of all the "security" to ensure the Chinese run mines produce and ship out the raw materials to China.
Chinese will then provide the needed cash and goods to the Taliban as well as perhaps purchase any spare left over gear they would like to look at (that they don't already have the full plans for).
Anything happens, the Chinese quietly and quickly pull out all their folks, wait till the Taliban run out of money and then resume the arrangement, after deducting an appropriate amount from the next couple payments for "inconvenience".
Unlike our stupid greedy short sighted politicians and our even more short sighted, goldfish like greedy public, the Chinese Communists are steadily working on their 100 year plan for global domination and doing very well at it so far. They don't mind if it takes them another generation or two before they are the new most economically and politically powerful country. The USA has actually been helping quite a bit, first by of course funding them, and then by pissing off pretty much everybody around the world so the Chinese can come in with tons of money and play "nice" and just clean up everything they want.

Like said throwing good money after the bad money, if Russians or Chinese want access to these planes they have them parked on the tarmac in Uzbekistan, where most of the airworthy examples of Afghan AF were flown by the fleeing crews with 600 other afghans on board.
Will be interesting to see how much this airlift cost and how many more airframes will be abandoned at the airport in the end, it's definitely not moving a lot of people for the number of planes involved.
Considering how many tankers needed for Kabul airlift , wasting more for stupid missions is just a waste of resources.
You literally need to top up every plane with the tanker as you can be 100% sure Kabul airport is out of fuel.
I think what we all need to understand is that the Chinese are going to use the TB as security contractors. The TB are so short sighted they will think this is a good deal. Afghanistan will now simply be an economic vassal state of China.
You see China's approach? Why kill everyone when you can fairly cheaply just buy them off and mine their resources to sell to the rest of the globe. No need to get bloody when money works just as well, some of it American money. If you want the resources and they are willing to sell them what does it matter what kind of government they have? It a non-issue, no fucks given. Similar to what we do with Saudi Arabia and oil.
In the meantime while no one is looking at this strategically China is doing everything it can to surround India and put a choke hold on them. This move into AFG only makes it more complete via the Belt and Road initiative.

As far as these planes fly to get to Kabul none is even close to a full fuel tank, even the tankers landing at Kabul or orbiting somewhere over Afghanistan are less than half-full that is why you have 70 or so KC types( 70 planes not 70 missions flown) in a couple of days.
Would Americans be in favor dealing with the Taliban for a swap, the Biden administration and a few democratic congressmen and senators for the all the Americans the POTUS left behind enemy lines in Afghanistan ? I believe when you abandon Americans during a war on foreign soil on purpose as POTUS stated was factored into his plan you should be dragged to the gallows. Just imagine some of the scumbags we are importing, that literally used the ticket to US to get some child brides. These were the ones that had guaranteed spots on the planes, not some random folk crashing the gates. Its kinda bizarre to listen to this how all these folks that worked for us deserve to be resettled in US and Europe, we all know many were absolute scumbags just in it for a quick buck.
