Hey everyone, looking for the XLR Envy Bag Rider 3D print model. I want to lighten up the rear for my rimfire rifle so looking to get one 3D printed. I have access to a 3D printer, so just need the .stl file or sketch file etc. If you have one you're willing to share let me know, or let me know the price to buy it.

    Thanks!

.375" from the back of the stock, means to the center of the first hole.

Angle / design etc your choice.

    Other measurements -

It's very fun and addictive, up to 4 printers now. Get yourself a student copy of Solidworks or Fusion and you can really design some stuff. I stick to solutech and overture (not matte), as they are dependable. My PETG sits on the shelf, as the extra material strength was never enough to overcome the inconsistent layer adhesion-in my experience.

I have Fusion... I use PETG for Jeep parts for the thermal resistance

used fusion to model drawer inserts for my rolling toolbox in the garage

I'd personally put a hole through it and glue in a rod of some sort to stiffen it
Shouldn't be necessary if printed in the proper orientation and print settings. Should be printed with the holes parallel to the print bed and have 5 or so walls depending on the nozzle diameter.

I mostly print with CF PETG and that stuff is strong.

The profile on this print is .8” square. Printed with 1.6mm walls at 20% infill, weight is 23 grams. I am able to get the slightest deflection when really torquing it by hand. Going to print final version with 2mm walls and 30% infill.
I have been beating on printed PLA arca rails, riders, bag plates and small parts on my competition guns for the past 2 years. As long as there is sufficient material/bracing to limit flex, parts can be quite durable when designed and printed well. The only thing I would worry about is warpage when leaving in a hot car in the summer, or using the buttstock as a club. No problems riding a bean bag or even as a grab handle.

I just picked up an XLR stock for some stuff, I'll design a bag rider and post a link to download on this thread. Not sure I will sell them but will at least make the file free for people to print if they want.
That would be awesome. Thank you 🙏🏼

Free STL file available to download on my website. https://bit.ly/XLR_BAGRIDER

I’m new to having files for download here so I’ll work on making it more user friendly. It is what it is for now as I’m busy.

Also, I’m doing to record a video of me doing this parametrically and post the design file once done so you will be able to modify features as you see fit - fully customizable.

No problem! I've got some other stuff I'm working on that I'll be posting up for free download as well.
I’m just getting into 3D printing. I do have found the community of printers very welcoming as you have demonstrated.

I’m printing a lot of petg. I’m having great luck at slower travel speeds and about 65 percent fan.

The file didn’t have the dimensions set in it. Can you share how big it is supposed to be (L W H) so it prints the correct size?

I'd like an exact replica of the aluminum one printed. I have the aluminum one for CF, but want a lite 3D print for my rimfire. The 3D printed models so far have been different in dimensions compared to the actual alu one from XLR.

Interested in these as well, following
