Having an issue with a 12rd MDT magazine feeding a Curtis valor action. The rounds are exiting the feed lips before the bullet tips are up the chamber feed ramp. Causing the cases to jump up out of the magazine and not feed properly. Any ideas?

Did that on 6x47 in order to feed a Stiller action from AIAW mags. I don’t see how flaring is going to stop the case head from exiting the feed lips early and allow the case to fly up premature

Um….isn’t closing the feed lips a bit going to solve this? Or are you saying the case head gets out before the bullet is captured by anything on the front end…i.e. no matter what you do to the feed lips, the round will pop out too early?

I misinterpreted your post. For some reason I thought the ammo was running into the feed ramp because they weren't properly releasing from the mag.

Which 12round mdt mag, br based or normal? And what bullet (for the length).

Some actual details would be helpful.

Are you using their MDT 6BR mag or their .308Win mag?

Yes it’s the 6BR magazine. Apparently it has something to do with the 3 lug bolt on this action. Not sure what to do

A Curtis with feeding issues?! Color me surprised.

You might try some other mags… or (and this is not meant to be sarcastic) another action.

I had an issue with my mdt br mags with my dasher and I solved it by adjusting the spring position on the follower. I simply pushed the spring further into the slot where it is riveted to. I don’t have a three lug Dasher, it is a Tikka.
    might be worth a try.
