Accuracy International AT-X

I called MHS Monday and they said they got a few, we’re expecting more but no idea how many more or when they’re coming in. They did say they’re expecting to finish FDE before they start other colors, at least for the pre-orders.
Side question: How closely does AI’s FDE match the vortex Razor HD’s goldish color?

Not even close to matching the same shade but they look fine together too me

Eww, that vortex is a weird shade of poor that would clash with the FDE on the ai
I was legitimately thinking that same thing. Like how Gucci does a scope how to be to slap on an AI 🧐. It’s getting an ATACR right now but that extra weight for the Razor wouldn’t be a bad thing for a competition only rifle. But it does feel a little “poor” when the scope is less than 1/3 the price of the rifle lol

More FDE makes me happy.

Need help with AT-X purchase. Soon I will be making a pre-order purchase from MHS for an AT-X rifle. In my world the cost for the rifle, new scope, mount, etc will be huge. I’m trying to do my due diligence and avoid a mistake. In this thread there is a mention of minor design changes between the first and second production runs. Since I’m in no rush, is there any reason to wait for the second run? Will my AICS magazines work in this rifle? I want to purchase a new scope and mount worthy of this rifle, recommendations (Up grading from Vortex Gen2 Razor). I currently have two Manners stocks and a J. Allen stock (prefer the J. Allen), will I have trouble with the AT-X chassis? Which AI accessories should I start budgeting for to purchase when available? I live in the middle of nowhere and won’t be able to put my hands on this rifle before purchase. The rifle will be used for its intended use, PRS style shooting, 1200 yards and in. Thanks in advance for any wisdom that members have to share.

Design change? What design change?

I've yet to even think about trying AICS mags on any of my AI's, so Idk if it would work. But, I use both AW and AX mags on mine.

As far as accessories goes for the chassis itself

- Long or Short Forend bridge if planning on using NV. Or for looks...
- Long Forend rail for long bridge if planning on using NV. Or for looks...
- Forend Weights (AI or Sawtooth Rifles)
- Pic rail for bipod (unless you plan on using RRS Dovetail/ Arca mount)
- Folding Hinge *No idea on release date*
- Quick Adjust (ASR/ AXSR) Butt Stock *No idea on release date*

Hopefully all these accessories are available by the time your rifle ships...;)

I'd call EuroOptic or Mile High to see who has the shorter wait list on the exact color you want.
No one knows exactly which color AINA will ship next. But, you're late to the party, so you're waiting regardless.

Just please, don't listen to Burt aka @deersniper LOL

When buying a blank for the ATX, is a certain contour required ( breach end of things) ? Or would any contour work

IDK exactly what the design changes are but it was mentioned earlier in this thread. MHS said it was minor changes at attachment points, whatever that means.

Tom Irwin mentioned minor internal changes. But that's about it. And that was before the 1st batch (Not Pre-Production) of rifles had shipped.

AICS will *not* work on the AT-X, you need an AX magazine, part # 6677. MHSA has some rare ones in AI colors (Elite Sand, Dark Earth, etc) that are no longer made so if you are going for a classic color, get them there.

The Bridge is the part that goes over the barrel on the chassis (as No Legs mentioned), and isn't needed unless you want to add accessories in front of the optic, or just for looks. There is a short bridge which covers about half the barrel, and a long bridge which covers the full barrel.

The AT-X specific weights can be added for balance (Part # 009-1003), and there is an add-on screw kit so you can even stack the weights; as well as brass weights that go in the hand guard and under the barrel (sorry I don't have part numbers for screws or brass weights)

IMHO, I would just get the rifle, a couple extra magazines, and get a Really Right Stuff ARMS-LR bipod clamp and TBAC Bipod, a case of Berger 6.5 CM rounds, and shoot the snot out of it and figure out what what you feel need from there.

For optic, I'd get the ZCO 527 with the MPCT3 or 3x reticle, and a Spuhr SP-6602 mount, and a Spuhr A-0119 Bubble Level, and never be left wanting more!

Even though people say don’t listen to you LOL, I’m going to take your recommendation and get a ZCO 527. What are a couple of mount recommendations and height. Thanks
Arc rings or spuhr mount or era tec. There’s another one too. Tier one. Maybe another after that.

I run 1.375 or 1.5 for clip on use
you may want to run lower not sure

Howdy: I was looking for a bag rider to attach to the Lower mount on my AT-X butt stock.I found this bag rider from Longshot Precision , (adjustablebagrider.com).Has adjustability function of Lower or higher which could be used in load development. For PRS use I just keep it closed. Hi quality but expensive.

Nice looking bag rider. I checked their website and they have several different models for AI rifles not of which are specific to the new AT-X. Do you know which model you ordered?
