I am on the prowl for some good LRF binos. I am currently packing my Swaro 15X56 binos and my Terrapin X. I have the best of both worlds but it is extra weight I think I could reduce into one unit. Based on the research I have done I found the "consensus" to be.....

Sig Kilo 3000 - Best Value, best ranging, glass is sufficient, connect to AB, in glass dope
Vortex Fury 5000 AB - Sufficient ranging, slightly better glass, connect to AB, in glass dope
Zeiss Victory - Great glass, sufficient ranging, no connection to AB, in glass dope, high price
Swaro - Great glass, sufficient ranging, no connection to AB, in glass dope, high price
Leica - Great glass, sufficient ranging, connect to AB, in glass dope, high price

Ranging reliability is most important, with glass quality coming in second. Connection to AB and in glass dope is a must so a couple are eliminated. Really comes down to Vortex, Sig, Leica.

Any thoughts or input from those who have tried multiple units?

I would hold out for the Sig Kilo 10k that is coming out soon.

I am in the same boat looking to condense what I am carrying and that is my plan. Better glass and ranging than the kilo 3k and has an internal compass which the 3k lacks. Supposedly it also has a selectable mil grid reticle and you can zero the laser so it lines up where you want it in the reticle.

The Sig3000 only provides holds to 800 yds unless you upgrade it. The quality control in mine was terrible so I got rid of it. The Fury AB is a much better rig that ranges reliably.

Love my Sig BDX3000s. I was searching for the same thing and landed on the Sigs. The ranging is insanely good and I came off of and still have Leica 2800.COMs. Unless glass is your first priority, I don't see anything 'better' than the Sigs.

You got to upgrade your account to post for sale stuff in the classified section. It’s worth the extras too. @JohnnyUno

I’ve got the sig Kilo3k unit. All things software are vastly superior to my former Leica HD-B’s. However, the viewing experience is vastly inferior. It’s all about what your priorities are, I personally wish I had stuck with Leica at this point.

No one here is pissed off. Its just prohibited to post for sale/wtb outside of the px and it seemed like you didnt know, so I thought you would rather know than get booted.

Hopefully the 10K really does have much better glass. That's the story I've been given, but I haven't looked through them yet. Coupled with AB Elite, they should be pretty nice if they sorted out the optics.

I own a set of Leica HD-B’s and compared them to a set of the new Swarovski’s with TA and was impressed. Wish the Swaro app held more than 3 profiles but that is better than having to go to Leica’s website to build profiles and save them on SD cards. Also bummed the Swaro’s have the belly on the bottom of the units and no location to mount a RRS cynch so I can attach to my tripod. Those complaints aside I love that I can make and push changes to the Swaro’s in the field and not be tethered to the internet. Also having 3 profiles saved in the unit is very nice.

Was eyeing getting the Vortex Fury AB due to the Kestrel link and highly regarded laser unit but have been waiting a while for units to be available and decided to get moving spending the extra for better glass. Will keep my current Leica’s as backups as the do work and have excellent glass but going to get the Swaro El Range TA due to the new features and better laser than my Leica’s.

I am looking to sell my Fury 5000 AB's, LNIB. They've never been out of the house. I can't post in the classified's for some reason, so if anyone is interested please PM me.
Fucktards everywhere. Read the forum rules. If you can’t post in the px why would you try to sell here. Fuckin people

There are also the Delta binoculars, which I own. Only used them in earnest on steel targets to 1300 metres and they range them fast. The glass quality is quite good; I'd say excellent but I've never owned a pair of Swaros etc. The Delta does not have the range of the Sig Kilos though. Although my intensive use has been to 1300m, I have ranged trees/buildings/stuff to about 2400 metres but I've also not been able to range things which I thought I should have been able to at 2000 metres or even 1800 metres. This is all handheld though, for best performance you need a solid rest/tripod.
