Silencer Shop News Update: ATF eForms Launch Imminent!

Same here, but it was due to some dealer negligence resulting in an ATF audit that resulted in the ATF kicking back over 100 Form-4's (including 1 of my 3 with that dealer). I got my other 2 back in August, and the 3rd should have been approved right there, too, but it never came, and that's when I found out about the audit and all that crap. So, I'm at over a year now since purchase for a can that should have been approved back in August. 😡
Actually, an update on this...

After posting, I called and talked to the ATF to find out my status on that one can that's over a year now. The lady who answers the phone was nice, but she wasn't able to help. So she transferred me to the examiner who approved my first 2 Form-4's with that dealer, and was the person who gave me all the inside info about the audit, long before any of us outside of the ATF/dealer loop, was contacted by the dealer about the audit. She's a very nice lady and has always been very helpful. She did some quick searching, and found out that my re-submitted Form-4 had still not been assigned to an examiner after 2 months of check cashing on a re-submittal that was supposed to have been expedited on a 1 month turnaround.

So, apparently someone dropped the ball at the ATF and didn't put it in the right pile. Go figure! Just my luck! If I hadn't called, it would have probably gone through normal processing again, and taken another 6+ months before I got it back. Luckily, she's really nice and helpful, so she requested the file to be sent directly to her, so she could examine it, and said she should have the file, run the check, approve it, and get the approved Form and stamp over the mailing center in the next 1.5 weeks. 😲

I just wanted to share this info, because it blew my mind with them going above and beyond to help. 👍🏼

I broke down and bought another one today. If e-file works and runs smooth and quick I may pick up another to e file and see what Comes in first.

Been there, done that... My next one will likely get purchased after I get my income tax refund back. That's usually when I purchase my first one for the year, then once again around my birthday (summer) when construction work picks up, and I'm making good paychecks thanks to plenty of OT. Wintertime it slows down. The only reason I bought 3 last December was after the election BS. I figured they'd try to ban them, so I went ahead and got my main 3 bases covered (.30 cal centerfire, rimfire, and pistols up to .45). Then I started buying more specialized for specific guns.

I really wanted a TB Ultra 338 but after COVID I find myself shooting much more carbine and pistol drills. The little bit of bolt action time I do get is long range highpower matches so this just makes more sense right now.

Really hoping the e file , when available, is quick. I would pay another $1k to have one in 2 months while the other languished in NFA jail. I think it has a chance but suspect it will be overwhelmed right out of the box.

Will individuals be able to file the Eform once they get a serial number or will dealers only be able to file?

Will silencershop be batch submitting a ridiculous number of Form 4s in an attempt to somehow game the system and crashing it to the point where it's shutdown for 7-8 years?

Asking for a friend...

Only the transferor (seller). The item has to be in your inventory before you can transfer it.
My SOT just received my suppressor from the manufacturer and is ready to file my F4. I’m asking if I will be able to file my own F4 or will only the SOT dealers be able to?

The dealer must be involved to assign the serial number from their inventory and certify the transfer. I have no other details unfortunately.

Do they have the entire system down? I've been trying the past few days to do a Form 1 without success.

I keep getting errors saying I'm missing info when I try to register. Also doing it on a cell phone, so who knows....

I had the same thing but check upper right hand corner. If it shows your name it registered you.

Anyone able to even register an account?

I keep getting "registration incomplete - please verify information and try again"

I even tried the forgot username/password stuff thinking maybe I set up an account years ago and forgot, but no luck their either.

I can’t login with old Eforms username. I know you have to reset your password so I received a temp password but i still can’t login.

So after reading through some of this I am a little confused. Are the new SS Kiosk documents sent in as E file or are they sent in the old way?

I purchased two cans through my LGS using the Silencer Shop Kiosk back in April, check cashed about 2nd week of May. I called my LGS and they said I don't need to do anything? Is this correct?

Before I leave town for work in a few weeks I'll be buying 2 or 3 more cans, pretty sure this will be done through the new eFroms?

I bought a suppressor and received the stamp after a ‘normal’ wait. After a couple of days I got a call from the shop saying that upon reviewing the paperwork, the examiner had inverted 2 numbers on the serial number written on the stamp. “We need you to bring the suppressor and paperwork back so that we can send the file back to the AFT for correction.” Ugh, I thought, will I ever get it back? It was less than 7 business days from when I returned the can to when I re-received it with the corrected paperwork. The ATF can work fast when they want to…

If you did the docusign stuff, just sit back and wait.

over and over and over. I know everything is correct.

Can’t reset my password. Tried the forgot password link and received a temp one via email but cannot complete the process. Typical gov bs

Same for me. It looks like it adds some authapp\ prefix to my username every time I try to login. Tried multiple browsers and same thing

Perhaps just an issue with people who already had accounts. I was able to register an account yesterday and log in fine as of this morning. The /authapp/ being added to my login name didn't seem to impact me being able to log in.

Has anybody cracked the code on this? Nothing works to reset the password. Leave it to the Government to totally f**k this up ... they couldn't just port over the old UserID and Password ... that would have been WAY too easy.

I couldn't get any new passwords to work for me. I finally used a Google suggested password and added some characters. Hopefully google never forgets the password because I'll never remember it.

Figured it out ... here are the steps:
  1. Select "Forgot Password" from the initial login screen
  2. Provide UserID and Email
  3. Get the Email-provided temp Password
  4. Use Login ID and Temp Password to login from the main page
  5. On the next page, provide ...
    1. UserID
    2. Temp Password
    3. New password using Caps, Lower Case, Letters, Numbers, and a Special Character (i.e. 123Abc456DEf!&%
    4. Retype New password
Note: You'll never actually use the old password from the prior eForms app ... just the new temp-password.
Note: You'll always use the goofy "APPAUTH\" in front of your UserID ... if you skip it, the app will insert it ... works both ways.

You'll get in OK at that point and it sends you to a confirmation page, and then to a personal info page ... both need responses.

Hope this helps.

This is what I was referring to. Turns out it didn't like my passwords, even though it satisfied their stated requirements.

Pain in the dick. I've tried a few variations to try to get it to take. No luck.
I have an email in to them that was sent late Xmas eve so not expecting anything back until tomorrow or Tuesday.
