Back in the early/mid seventies I was the project engineer/welding inspector on the cooling tower make-up and blow down lines on Hanford 2 reactor at Hanford. 36" and 42" spiral welded line pipe, 60' randoms. The local pussy pipefitters didn't know how to down hand and it was like 110 degrees in the desert and we had about four miles of pipe to run. This was just about the same time or a little after the Alaska pipeline gig was finishing up so our company management reached to some Oklahoma pipe line guys and no shit, there was one guy named Blanton Woffard who showed up in a chopped Corvette made into a small flat bed pick up with a fucking Lincoln welding machine in the back. He and his buddy Bobby were two of the best downhanders I ever saw and solid people as well.

Two things in one post. There is a thread in Maggie's " Song of the Day" .I posted 2 things here this week that should have gone there. Some great music. I see some guy's from here others should check it out
Next thing some shots of the B/P Corvette I'm rebuilding for an old friend after it got turned inside out at the Charlotte Roval in March. We're getting there. It's a B/P rebuild so the guy's that know will see some things that are old school outdated. I know. He doesn't want a GT-1/Trans- Am race car, he want's a restored B/P '64 Corvette.
The last shot of the 23 was a GT-1 I built back in the late '70's. Fast., Fast, Fast,. Completely illegal of course but not more then everyone else

Wow, those are great. Anyone have a source, or are they custom?
I got mine from big sky backyards in Montana. They are custom from him. Not sure if he has a web page or not, but I know he’s on Instagram. We put our order in at the NFR last year.

Always wanted to build a 1911. Finally got it all together! Just need to stake the plunger tube, park it and get some good stocks.

When you parkerize it, does that cover the small scratches? If not, you could polish it up better with some scotchbrite pads. IIRC the blue ones are the least abrasive. I've used them to polish a stainless Ruger Single Six back to factory new condition...bought it used, and it had some "wear marks".
