6GT. Berger 108 BTs running 2975 on 34.5 of RL 15.5. Not sure on COAL. But jumping .040.

Edit. I went and looked at load data. COAL is 2.520" and BTO is 1.890" @ .040 jump.

My old load for my BRA was 109 hybrids, 31.4gr varget, and 2930fps. CBTO was 1.890 I think. 10 or 16k off the lands?

95 gr PVA Seneca, 105 Berger Hybrid, 108 ELDM
COAL 2.240 - 2.385
Mags are Brenton 15 round for factory ammo or up to 2.285. PRI windowed mags & modded follower for 2.285 - 2.385

6 GT Bolt gun
105 Berger Hybrid, 109 Berger LRHT, & 110 A-tips
2.520 - 2.595 COAL
Mags ARC 10 rounders x 4 with Area 419 + extension on 1 for 12 round stages.

Not gonna lie, I’m kinda flabbergasted at how many know neither CBTO nor COAL.

I can’t rattle mine off the top of my head, but I know what notebook has the data in it.

Sorry OP, I’m only shooting 6.5CM rn, can’t help you with your 6mm quest.

I shoot 112 Match Burners and 115 DTACs in my 6XC and 6 Creed. 105 or 109 Hybrids in my 6 Dasher. I don't have a clue on the COAL, since I measure everything off the ogive

Edit: yes, all my measurements, test load results, seating tests, etc, are all written down. I keep all my notes on index cards in a little container on my bench. I'm just not getting out of bed to check when I can cuddle up next to the missus instead

Too lazy to go downstairs to look it up right now, it's beddy bye time

1.7370" CBTO

108 Berger elite hunt. 2.835" coal

108 Berger match boattail. 2.775" coal

105 Match Target Hybrids

ES~5 to 7 FPS
H4350, 38 grains (IIRC, will double check in the AM)
CBTO (will check in the AM). Never measured COAL, don't care. I'll give you some COAL numbers to go with CBTO.
Update;

Went downstairs and measured/looked.

(Load for Bolt Action, Mag fed, AICS Mags. Bighorn TL-2 and Ultimatum Deadline builds, both chambers identical dimensionally)

2.951" CBTO
SAC Comparator, 1.000" OAL (including insert)
SAC 6mm insert, 0.241" ID (Sinclair ~ 0.237", see below)
2.640", 2.636", 2.636" COAL (Sample of 3 rounds)
Just touching lands
38gr H4350
Both builds shoot in the 1's and 2's fairly regularly

I never look at COAL (other than the initial specifying of reamer). I always go off of CBTO. However, you need to be careful with CBTO measurements. I used Sinclair comparators for probably 20 years. I decided to upgrade to SAC (Short action Customs) a couple of years ago and have been quite happy with them. The only reason I went from Sinclair to SAC was better fit/finish on the SAC's.

There wasn't anything wrong with the Sinclairs. They are made of aluminum and I saw the SAC's and that they were made of stainless, so I decided to "upgrade". At that point, I had two sets of comparators. On a lark, I decided to measure the bores of both the SAC and the Sinclair. To my great surprise, the Sinclair was (IIRC) 0.237" or so. I then measured the bore of the SAC insert and it measured 0.241".

All those years of using the Sinclair, it didn't occur to me that the bore would be anything other than 0.243". That assumption on my part was true for both the Sinclar and the SAC. As I thought about it, it began to make sense. The reason that manufacturers "underbore" their comparators/inserts is that if they made the bore exactly the same size as the bullet, there would be a great deal of CBTO measurement variation due to just exactly where the bullet "got thick enough to stop further travel of the comparator insert". A ten thousandth of an inch in diameter/bore variation at close to full bullet diameter will translate into a lot of CBTO measurement variation.

I mention this because of my experience, I treat the CBTO measurement as a relative measurement, not an absolute measurement. The only thing that I care about is that from reloaded round to reloaded round, the measured CBTO value is always the same. In that regard, I don't care what the number "is", I just want it to always be the same.

The Sinclair and the SAC "clamp" on as well. I wasn't saying there is anything wrong with either, just that a person will get different measurement values with different brands, due to different bore diameters for a given insert.

Just something to be aware of, that's all. And to stimulate a little curiosity for others to maybe measure the bore diameter on their comparators. I'd be willing to bet that I wasn't the only one that was/would be surprised to find that the bore diameter didn't equal the bullet diameter.

ya even if the hole in the clamp on part is the exact diameter if the edge of the hole has a radius or chamfer or something it will give a different read because that edge condition will allow the bullet in or out of the comparator . it would be cool to make inserts' that where hardened steel with a sharp ID edge to give the most accurate true measurement

.243 Win. 26 inch barrel, 1.75 twist, 110gr. bullet, 2875 velocity. ( was shooting 3060fps with a 107gr. bullet, but to save the barrel, slowed down
bullet) amazingly accurate!

243win, Sierra 85gn game king, set to saami max OAL (barrel is toast, there are no more reloading tricks left to improve accuracy, said bullet doesn’t engage the lands for about 600 thou past the end of the chamber, still good for minute of goat at 200, but useless for anything that requires scoring…)

Free mixed range brass (Starline, lots of ADI and a few Winchester)
2760fps, but can run it at 2980fps no issue, I just don't like the drop numbers).

Don't know OAL on top of my head.
