    Small town New England
Just saw a post from Anschutz NA and they said to be sure to visit the AI booth at SHOT as they will be exhibiting something sweet

I would gather a a new chassis. Anyone here going to SHOT that can send us some details?

    Not just a normal Anschutz
    OMG!
    A Fortner in an ATX?
Please god let it be true

    edit
looks like maybe a 54 variant in a chassis.

I'm interested to see if Anschutz starts making the 54.18 (match 54 repeater) action again. It's a different action than what is in their 17xx series of 54 based repeater rifles they currently make. If this is the case there will be some very upset people out there that have paid a premium for an action that was discontinued. I have owned 3 of them and they are spectacular! This is going to be awesome if that's what is going on...

Either that or a real beefy premium updated 54 version, with say integrated 20 moa picatinny, fat profile, maybe a 1:12 twist option.

It wouldn't be worth it if it's not a repeater that uses the 50XX series of triggers IMO...
Agreed. Would be nice if they also came out with a premium light single stage 50xx

JBELL is correct, the first stage can be adjusted out and performs flawlessly as a single stage.

Since the cats out of the proverbial bag by design 😂. 54.18s with the 5018 trigger are being off loaded at an east coast port and should arrive at our facility next week. They will feature 2 different barrel lengths. One threaded and one unthreaded.

-Assuming they use the same magazine as the original?
-Pressed and pinned barrel or threaded?
    -Anschutz made and installed barrel?
-Got any weights for the two barrel lengths with the chassis as a folder?

    Pretty sexy!

Same mags. Pressed and pinned. Anschutz barrels. 20” threaded straight .900 taper, 24.5” .950 iirc straight taper not threaded. Don’t have barrel weights yet and don’t have the chassis weight.

Very cool! I'm sorta struggling to see how this will work with a Fortner though, how do you get your thumb behind the bolt?

Is Anschutz backboring the muzzle on the threaded 20"? They did that for a bit on some threaded barrels they offered.

Fortner will require using the bolt toggle to close instead of the bolt cap.
That takes away a major part of what makes the Fortner special in my opinion. Would you consider designing a bolt cap that sticks out the side of the chassis for the thumb to rest on?

It’s something we could look at but I wouldn’t expect it anytime soon

1727 maybe but I don’t see Germany producing the 54.18 in LH
Not talking about the action. I know the 1727 is available for southpaws but the chassis is unlikely to be made in LH or at least initially unless someone has better information than my gut feel

@deadly0311 when I went by the AI booth and asked about it I got the "huh? what are you talking about? go away dude asking weirdo questions" answer.
Maybe I asked the wrong person/my breath was bad/my RBF was on?

Same when I wrote AI in the UK regarding where to buy the Anschutz variant in the EU. Very weird answer saying ”we are AI” clearly having no idea about the chassis. I wrote again with an explanation that I was asking about the AI produced chassis for anschutz footprint and once again the answer was ”we are AI”. Sort of that Senate hearing feeling when the answer in no way matches the question asked.
On the Anschutz end I got the answer they will not be selling to the EU

 Damn right I'm upset... How am I going to convince @R.Walters to buy my old beat up 54:18 for way above market value now? :ROFLMAO:

Asked about what specifically? The AI guys have been working hand in hand with us on this project. There was a 54.18 in the ATX chassis on display at SHOT

Some at the company clearly didn’t get the memo based on my email exchange.
