    PISTOL BRACE

All the braces did was highlight how stupid the SBR laws on the books were. The last time I checked, criminals committing firearm crimes haven’t exactly cared if their barrel lengths are too short. Not one mass shooter who plans on dying at the scene cares if they are using a weapon without a...

    PISTOL BRACE

For those of you that think you’re finding some loophole to get free tax stamps and SBRs, do you honestly believe the ATF won’t change their parameters and rules 6 months after you voluntarily give up your info? They waited 10 years after giving express written permission to these companies and...

    Illinois Semi-Auto Ban

The hope is the IL AWB case will make it to the Supreme Court and be the first to test the “historical common use” theory.

    Illinois Semi-Auto Ban

Temporary Restraining Order granted by a judge in southern Illinois. I’m one of the plaintiffs so I’m back to normal citizen status. There’s a bunch of other lawsuits filed so I’d expect more rulings soon.

Looks like Jabba the Fat Fuck is going to sign a semi-auto ban shortly.

    Lectron Carburetor anyone?

Ok, we’re definitely not arguing over the merits of a well tuned standard carb. I sold my Lectron and kept the Mikuni TMXs because I ride MX at sea level and wanted more hit and performance. I was giving the OP a little backstory on why Lectron had a resurgence in the off-road community. It was...

    Lectron Carburetor anyone?

I haven’t personally battled the KTM jetting but there is a 31 page/900 reply thread on Vital specifically for the carb settings. When people in mass are trying Kawasaki slides/Yamaha needles/Stic blocks etc. there is definitely an issue. It literally created its own little aftermarket. I’ve...

    Lectron Carburetor anyone?

Yes the Lectrons came back into favor with the KTM off-road crowd. I’ve read that they do better with elevation changes and fuel economy. Plus the stock jetting for the 2017+ 2-strokes were so far off from the factory that guys were throwing $400 Lectrons on instead of fighting the oem carb. I...

    Tesla Charging Stations...

Yes, I screwed that up. I’m not for or against the idea, just trying to run the numbers to do a real world cost analysis. I got real familiar with KWhs last winter so we were spitballing. To keep my new 36x44 garage at 48 degrees with heavy insulation/radiant floor heat/new 100% efficient...

    Tesla Charging Stations...

https://getoptiwatt.com/blog/how-much-electricity-does-it-take-to-charge-a-tesla Ok, so I’m doing a little research to see what makes sense from a solar panel perspective. A coworker of mine just got a bank of panels installed and he completed his first month of output. Summer in northern...

    Tesla Charging Stations...

It doesn’t sound scary to me, I just lived through a winter of ridiculous electric bills thanks to a super efficient electric 12kw boiler that only ran when needed and only used the minimum burners the demand called for. My boiler ran at 48amps max load and required a 60amp breaker. Just curious...

    Tesla Charging Stations...

I’m curious what the electric bill would be running these 240/100amp chargers. I mistakenly installed a “100% efficient” electric boiler for my radiant floor heating in my new insulated garage and was hit with $450-$500/month electric bills just to keep the temp above 48 degrees. Add an electric...

    DEF shortage

My directional drill burns about 6-8 gallons of DEF a day so we buy DEF by the barrel on pallets. This is not a good situation. As soon as I get low on DEF, the engine goes into limp mode.

Need a machinist for a motorcycle project

Well guys, we’ve got a working sprocket. We went with the original idea of turning 2 sprockets into 1. The long-term solution is to find a place to build several 1 piece sprockets from scratch, but this will get me moving and prove the concept. Thanks for the responses.

Need a machinist for a motorcycle project

I thought about threading the output shaft. Honda used this method on their 125 and 250 2 strokes with a 8mm bolt and conical? washer. Yes it’s locktited but it’s also rotating in the direction to constantly tighten the bolt. The shaft is extremely hard and there’s less material than a Honda. I...

Need a machinist for a motorcycle project

Yes, that’s what we’re trying right now. The sprocket is 7mm thick so you’re almost machining half of the strength out where it rides on the output shaft. I bought 2 new sprockets so I’m hoping we can sacrifice one to add material to the backside. He thinks we can heliarc weld the pieces...

Need a machinist for a motorcycle project

Here is a zoomed in picture of another conversion that was done. This is the only other conversion that I’m aware of and this was done with the help of someone connected to Suzuki motorcycle division. They also used an offset front sprocket but they won’t respond to my email. Here is a picture...
