    Rifle Scopes shooting with glasses

I actually did mention to the doctor that I was concerned about being able to see through the scope and he informed me that he also likes to shoot, so we had a long conversation about guns. If I do end up needing corrective lenses, I will definitely have my rifle in the truck with me and ask him...

    Rifle Scopes shooting with glasses

This is good stuff to know. I would have never even considered that frames and lenses need to be checked for fit in the prone position. I wonder what they'll think at the optometrist's office when I bring my rifle with me to decide which glasses to order?

    Rifle Scopes shooting with glasses

I appreciate all the the quick replies to my inquiry. I suppose it's not the end of the world if I have to get glasses, but I would rather not! I was just thinking about wearing glasses while hunting and how that might interfere with my camo. I've been duck hunting with guys who wear glasses and...

    Rifle Scopes shooting with glasses

I wasn't sure which forum to post this in, so I chose this one as it seems most relevant. My question is about shooting with or without corrective lenses. I recently had an injury to my right (dominant) eye as some foreign body got embedded in my eye and had to be removed by an eye doctor...

    inconsistent seating depth

Thanks for your reply, Milo. Yes, I have cleaned the dies and I'm not loading up a whole bunch of rounds. I have actually been reloading for a few years and I have a couple of experienced friends who help me out some. I have worked up loads before, so I have a pretty good idea of what is...

    inconsistent seating depth

I have done a bit more research on the bullet comparator and overall length gauge and I will probably order these today. For a bit more info....I am using a Rock Chucker Supreme as my press and the reason I have chosen the inexpensive RCBS dies is because absolutely nothing else was in stock...

    inconsistent seating depth

Thanks for all the the replies! I feel better about it after reading what you guys have said. I am going to do some research on meplat trimmers, comparators and will look into finding some Redding Type S competition series dies. The bullets that I was loading last night are Lapua Scenar 300gr. I...

    inconsistent seating depth

I'm needing some of you guys with a lot of experience to help me out with a problem I keep running into. I'm reloading a few different calibers and it happens to me no matter which one I'm working with. I have been using RCBS dies...just the regular, lowest cost dies that they make....maybe...

    sources for data

I just bought a new rifle that I want to reload for and I've been searching everything I can find online and in my book to try to get reloading data, but I still come up a little short. My rifle is a CZ 550 HET in .338 Lapua. So far, I have just started acquiring components and haven't even...

    Sako trg-42

The stock on the TRG has concerned me a bit as I don't particularly like it, but if I can get outstanding accuracy out of the rifle, I can learn to like that stock. I actually prefer the stock on the CZ HET. I have looked at the DTA and, while they seem impressive, they are not the direction I...

    Sako trg-42

Well, I already have optics and I do reload and have certainly investigated the price of loading for 338LM, so I'm good there. I'm just trying to decide if this is really the rifle I should choose or if might be happier with something else. I have access to places where I can shoot unlimited...

    Sako trg-42

I have been contemplating purchasing a .338 Lapua rifle for about 3 years now and I finally have put away enough money to actually purchase something in the 3k-4k price range. I have several options that I've looked into, including a custom build, but I keep going back to look at the SAKO...

Stolen guns!!! Update local pd found all guns

Re: Stolen guns!!! That's great news that they caught the thief so quickly! I wasn't really expecting to hear a happy ending to this story, so I'm a little amazed that things turned out so well. Someone broke into my dad's house years ago and took 7 rifles and shotguns. One of the shotguns...

    Lapua case life ???

Re: Lapua case life ??? Thanks for the replies! So, I think I have this straight....I need to get head space inserts for my calipers and determine how much the shoulder needs to be bumped back. Carter, you said this can be done with my FL die...I guess now I still need to understand how to...

    Lapua case life ???

Re: Lapua case life ??? I wanted to bring this thread back to the top because I'm still hoping one of you guys can answer my question about how often Lapua cases should be FL sized after neck sizing several times. Also, another issue I just remembered is that the reason I stopped loading my...

    Lapua case life ???

Re: Lapua case life ??? I'm interested in this thread as I'm pretty new to reloading and was wondering about this myself. I've been using Lapua brass for .308win and have been FL sizing for the first load and then neck sizing after that. So far, I've stopped after 4 firings and then start...

    CZ tactical rifles

Re: CZ tactical rifles I have a CZ550 Varmint rifle in .308win and I love that rifle. Excellent performance right out of the box! My next rifle purchase is definitely going to be a CZ550 Magnum H.E.T. in .338 Lapua. I have had friends trying to convince me that I could spend that much money...

    Forster case neck trimmer

Re: Forster case neck trimmer I think I have remedied the problem. As Gene Poole suggested, I took the vinyl cover off of the handle and tightened the screw...it was definitely loose. After tightening it, I trimmed some cases and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the help!

    Forster case neck trimmer

Re: Forster case neck trimmer It is the plastisol handle coming off. I'm going to pull the vinyl cover off when I get home tonight and have a look at it. Thanks!

    Forster case neck trimmer

Re: Forster case neck trimmer No, I'm definitely turning it clockwise. I'm right-handed and turn it with my right hand, with the stroke away from me going over the top. I used it in exactly this same manner, numerous times, with no problem, before this started happening. I can screw it back...
