Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

On the color, what they did was actually very smart....the blue is due to the RF in the right barrel. If you look at the left, it is actually warmer than natural colors. Can't see it on all things, but it is there. So a little warm on the left, and little cool on the right...open both eyes and...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

You may have a bum battery. I have used mine a ton and still at 100%.

Might also test to find out where your sensor is in relation to your reticle. You may be missing what you think you are targeting due where the sensor actually is. Some if the sensor may even be outside the reticle, but once you figure out where it is, you should be good.

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

So yeah, 1000 plus yards on cows, but that's not very challenging even if in full sun. Have not had a chance to find deer at any appreciable distance as of yet. However, was able to hit swans swimming an a lake in full mid-day sun at 905 yards. I found this a great test because the lake was...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Agree strongly on the diopters, that was the first thing we checked, hoping for a tight fit like my 2400 had. That is one design point they need to address either by tightening them significantly, or better, having them lock. So far, the only time we have seen them move is when someone twists...

Sig BDX System Review: 2400 BDX, Part 1a

Parshal, That's a good thought, it would be cool if it would automatically switch instead of having to be manual. That might take a bit of tech and might get fiddly in terms of the system switching back and forth, plus it would need to very clearly designate which data source it was coming...

    Which range finder and why?

It all displays back in the RF, just like the 2800. The 2800 has the added benefits in that it has an onboard compass, so true hands off with the Kestrel if you want. And it will display two wind holds from the Kestrel if you have your Kestrel setup that way (constant and gust). The Sig only...

Sig BDX System Review: 2400 BDX, Part 1a

Thanks for sharing that with me, really interested in how other people interact with these devices. I am kinda in the same camp. I prefer the Kestrel's working system, especially in setting wind direction etc. The temperature drift issue, to me, is important as well, I like that you can clear...

    Which range finder and why?

Yes, that is the purpose of the BDX line, ballistic data exchange. It pairs with a Kestrel 5700, also with a Foretrex 701, and scopes in the BDX line. There may be additional items that will connect in the future. That said, it is good to note that the 2400 BDX lacks an onboard compass, so...

Sig BDX System Review: 2400 BDX, Part 1a

Parshal, I really like the BDX system, especially when you use all the parts (the scope) together. That being said, unless you are using a scope, don't see you gaining much if anything with the BDX system over the ABS. At a very 'off the top of my head', quick breakdown: BDX and Kestrel...

    Which range finder and why?

Johnny, I have or have had the sig 2400 bdx and 3k, also the Leica 2700 and 2800. I have not used Leica's binos, nor the Zeiss binos. That said, I am very familiar with Leica ranging tech and run Zeiss FL binos. Leica's RF tech is very refined after over 25 years of ranging products. They...

Mammoth, Here it is, it's actually from earlier in this thread. Not sure it's what you are looking for, but hopefully helps.

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

I do not have the case, mine is a demo item, so no accessories etc. But I do carry mine binos in an AGC chest pouch, so would have liked to see the case to get an idea of what it's like. I am told by some people it is very similar to Kuiu? As to how to carry it, there is a post on another...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Blowby, If I understand what you are experiencing, this is how all the BDX models, and indeed the Leica, work. That is, if the Kestrel is awake, but the RF has gone to sleep, the first button press serves to wake the RF up and re-establish connection with the Kestrel. On the Sigs, takes about...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Don't know for sure what you are seeing, so it may be something different, but it was different for me compared to my regular binos. What I did, IIRC, is focused about 200 yards out, covered the left and focused the right for the reticle, then covered the right and focused the left for the...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Yeah, somewhere where I was talking about these, that's one thing I mentioned I think they needed...locking diopters. The one on the 2400 were super stiff, at least on my unit. Was hoping they would be that stiff, but they are not. We are probably going to put a strip of black electrical tape...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Yeah, I like mine, in fact, right now, the only thing I can point to so far that I don't care for is what I mentioned before about their imprecise sensor placement in relation to the reticle. Two outta three of my Leicas were not perfectly centered either, but they were pretty close, well, one...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Blowby, I've had a set of these for a few weeks, working on a review of them, but have to finish one on the scope first. But wanted to pass on a few observations so far.....I wear glasses and have pretty deepset eyes, so most spotters, for example, won't work for me. I have no problems with...
