    Rangefinder thoughts and opinions

Kenzup, If you want Kestrel connection, that narrows your choices dramatically. Considering the distances etc. that you are talking about, you are basically talking about the a Vec x, Leica 2800.com, a Sig 2400 BDX (not ABS, it does not connect, but has AB Elite onboard), and a Sig 3000 BDX...

    Best binocular tripod adapter?

The 1/4 20 mount is under a cover that on the front of the hinge. It threads off and underneath is the mount.

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

I have the 3kbdx, I am reviewing it now, but quick response on the glass quality. Sig will you its more or less Zulu 5 glass, so you can check out the reviews on those to get an idea. Robby Denning did a good video on. I have compared them to my Zeiss FL's, all I for comparison, really...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Sorta, I had don't have a tripod mount for the bino yet, so I just used the tripod for as much support as possible.

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

I figured since it's invisible and eye safe, it was not forbidden, but you're right...you never know these days!

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

I've gone beyond 3700, over 3690 in full sun, high mirage. Hit a flying plane at over 3200. Impressed so far, hope to get out to do more testing this weekend, and then use them with the scope at a course next week, assuming all goes to plan.

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

I just got off the phone with my contact at Sig. He explained that there are a couple issues involved here. First, it is important to note that 3r versions are not legal at this time in Europe. What that means is if they are to use the 3r laser, they have to manufacture and ship two different...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

I think they will be fine to 1k, but I hope to get access to the range I use for testing next week, but not sure that will happen. If it does, I'll be able to check out to at least 1125, maybe 1400. Problem is, I'm in Texas and it's getting hot already. Yesterday, when testing, mirage was...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

I have only had mine a few days, but I'll tell you what I see so far, which matches what Sig told me to expect....that is, they are nice glass, but they are not top shelf. While it's hard to categorize, as everyone's eyes are different, but the glass in the 3k is like their Zulu 5 glass, which...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

I just checked the demo ones I have, on mine, if you unscrew the front cover, it is threaded for a stud.

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

The one I have for review is a class 1m laser as well. However, today I ranged out to 3693 in full sun, and over 3700 an hour before sunset. Hit lots of targets out to well over 2k in full sun. It out ranged my Leicas (2700 and 2800.com), as well as my 2400 BDX. Should be having a call with...

Sig BDX System Review: 2400 BDX, Part 1a

AbbyKatt, I was one of the prototype testers for Leica on the 2800.com, so have a review up on this board, but its based on a prototype unit. I have a production unit here now, but need some additional time to see where changes were made, but between the review on this thread and the 2800...

Sig BDX System Review: 2400 BDX, Part 1a

I have not tested the L2400, but under full sun conditions, I am not surprised that the two 2400's are close. I ranged about the same distance as you did on a steel plate, but it was smaller, but conditions have such an impact, sounds like in ranging, they are very close or on par. Like you...

    Leica 2800 range finder

Not exactly. I have a review up on the 2800 as well as the 2400 BDX, but some of the differences are as follows: 2800: On board environmentals for standalone use, BT connection to app and a Kestrel. Standalone, ballistic solution to 1k via Leica sw. Kestrel connection, ballistic solution as...

    Ballistic solution in the LRF

I am not sure there is a right or wrong here, but I personally always find it advantageous to get the solution displayed in the LRF. I don't shoot matches so I can't comment there, but anytime you are in a hurry or under pressure, you can't lose. And in hunting situations recently, that...

Sig BDX System Review: 2400 BDX, Part 1a

The integration for me in my testing has been great. I have never had them come disconnected and have to reconnect them. However, I have had it where I ranged and the communication did not happen and I had to re-range. This usually happened when I ranged several times in fast succession. It...

Sig BDX System Review: 2400 BDX, Part 1a

Kriller, I have to say that I don't own nor have I used a Leica 2400, so I'm not sure I am all that qualified to remark on that RF. I have talked to a few guys that have it, guys I trust from another board, and by all accounts, it does what it does very very well. The glass will be the same...
