    What's it Worth?

Considering selling my USMC return M40A1 stock and bottom metal. I had good intentions of getting another clone M40A1 built but realistically, that's not going to happen. There are other toys I'd like to buy though. What's it worth? Just to complicate things, it's located in New Zealand...

Those damn anti-2A gun-destroying Jack Booted Thugs

My old man was in the firearms office at the local police station a few years ago getting some paperwork or other signed. An older guy came in wanting to get rid of a pistol he carried on his yacht and now had no use for. The Arms Officer looked at it and told the guy that if he surrendered it...

    Assistance setting up a 22lr for NRL22

I love my Bergara B14R. I've had it about nine months or so and like it more and more every time I shoot it. I've got a Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25x56 on it. Huge scope but it's mainly for use on a range anyway. I've found it to be very clear and repeatable dialling up 49 MOA to shoot at 300m...

    Tank Trap - seeking plans/advice

I had my son in law make me a knuckle for a tank trap for our club use. The knuckle allows you to slide the wood in and out to adjust the length of the arms for uneven ground or just different height tops to shoot off. This one has 2.00m long 100x100mm (90x90mm) H4 treated dressed posts...

Simple Barricade Stop for Bergara B14R?

I've had a couple of jams in PRS matches caused by pressure on the magazine. Fortunately both times I pulled the rifle back a bit and the round went into the chamber. Trying options not to have to drill extra holes first. A longer action screw is no problem. I can get them at a local shop.

That's the sort of thing I'm looking at.

Simple Barricade Stop for Bergara B14R?

What's the simplest barricade stop for a Bergara B14R with a factory stock? I just want a very simple stop to prevent pressure on the magazine causing misfeeds when shooting from awkward positions in PRS matches. Some rails like the Area 419 attach using the front action screw. Is there...

Snipery Australian Owen semi-auto SMG build FINISHED W/VIDEO

Very cool. The right coloured paints to finish it are surprisingly bright colours when you see them for real. A friend on mine got hit in the foot with one of these in Viet Nam. He was at his artillery firebase (161 Bty RNZA) when an Australian patrol was contacted only a couple of kilometres...

    Notorious/strange looking movie guns

To be fair, this is a modified image. The original had the barrel the right way. I owned that rifle when the movie was made. Just the barrel and action, not the AI stock. Another of my rifles, my TBA M40A1, was also in the movie.

    Notorious/strange looking movie guns

How about a Remington 700, disguised as an Accuracy International, with the barrel coming out of the back of the receiver?

    Notorious/strange looking movie guns

A few years ago my friend and I took one of these into a car wash to get the packing grease off and out of it. Back when we could still degrease stuff at a public car wash. It was partially disassembled but at least one other customer recognised it for what it was. When they were withdrawn...

    Tank Trap - seeking plans/advice

I might try the trimming method first, until my son in law, who is a metal fabricator, makes me a knuckle. Thanks for your advice.

    Tank Trap - seeking plans/advice

If you use six foot lengths and they are bolted in the middle of each length, how high is the middle where they all cross and and how high are the tops of the legs? I want to make one for our club, but don't want it too tall at the tops for the short arses. (I suppose I could just get three...

Pedant mode on: the Forest Rangers were most associated with the Calisher and Terry carbines, an early breach loader, rather than the shotguns. Pedant mode off. Belich's book gives a good overview of the Maori Wars, but is a bit revisionist. Frontier. The battle for the North Island of New...

What did you do in the reloading room today?

I loaded up a pile of .32S&W Long for my Pardini, then found the second box of 400 bullets were semi-wadcutters, not full wadcutters. I then spent half the day looking for my .303 British dies. I found all sorts of stuff but not the dies.
