    Too hot for the 6.5cm?

Forget "reading primers" and "bolt lift" to determine pressure. Aside from actively measuring pressure with a piezo-electric transducer, the gold standard is brass flow. Learn to inspect for ejector marks on your case head. Serious overpressure will literally cause brass to flow into the...

    Rifle Scopes Checking scope tracking

In my opinion, you need a fixture onto which you mount the scope, and can clamp onto a table or shooting bench. It helps to have the fixture actually contact the benchtop via 3 fine-thread bolts (leveling jackscrews) so that you can put a level across the pic rail of your fixture and level it...

    Where is all the brass???

Not that it's much easier to find, but 270wsm and 300 wsm can both be used to form 7wsm. Just FLS the 270 or 300 in a 7wsm die. You'll be creating a false shoulder to HS on. Just carefully set the die so cases have a mild "crush fit" in the chamber. Case capacity on first loading will be...

    HENSHOLDT Spotter 45

Having used an H32 Leupy MK4 and Spotter 45, I'm curious why all the talk of different reticle...? The H32 is a GREAT choice for a spotter.

When to switch from 4350 to 4831 in the .30-06?

Bottom line is when you find a max load with any given powder, and notice there's room for a good bit more powder in the case, you should consider trying the next slower burn speed.

    Questions about zero consistency.

Can't say I understand the physics behind it, but I routinely see a zero shift (on the order of ~.1 in any given direction) when shooting in different locations. Same goes for my shooting partner.

V-6 Wrangler Rubicon owners - How many miles per tank?

Chrysler sells the JK with CRD diesel in other markets... I realize you are referring to the new VM Motori 3.0L though. The one going into the WK and DS. Sure seems like a no brainer to me, too... But alas, ain't happening.

    Badger Ordnance M2013 Shipping NOW!

Mine has been great, with one caveat: You've got to RED loctite (high srrength 271....the Green 680 will also work) the shit out of the setscrews that lock the cocking piece to the firing pin. I've had those set screws back out on my 2008, my 2013, and my buddys 2013. Blue loctite (medium...

Told this at the UPS hub

Airplane propellers are long and skinny, and it makes sense they'd be insured for lots of money. Just saying.

V-6 Wrangler Rubicon owners - How many miles per tank?

The new 3.6L DOHC V6 is way better than the old 3.8L one. Still, the old 4.0 I6 is better suited to the platform. Considering it fits and fuel economy is no worse, it boggles my mind Chrysler doesn't install the 5.7L Eagle V8 in these...

Rifle Scopes Tangent Theta - TT525P

But yet the pointer looks to be pretty square on zero. The old Premiers have 3 Phillips screws on the underside of the turret cap to adjust the alignment of pointer-to-hashmark. But that doesn't help when the pointer is aligned in some places and not in others.

    243 105 berger ADVICE

43.5gr H4350 in my 243/6SLR under a 105 hybrid was good for 3200fps in a 26" Hawk Hill 4 groove. Ran it that way for ~200 rounds, but backed it off to 42.5gr for ~3130-3140fps. At ~750 rounds, it'd slowed to 3080fps. Now, with 994 on it, it goes 3060. Still shoots great. I shot in 95° temps at...

    Berger 127 Gr 257 Hybrid - 0.300 G7 & 0.59 G1 BC

I'd absolutely switch from 6mm SLR to 250 SLR if there were a ~125-130gr ~.600 BC bullet I could get going 3000+ fps

Rifle Scopes ATACR to F1 BEAST

Switching to mrad is easy. How often do you think of your targets, hits and misses in inches, consider the yardage, then estimate moa based on it? Hopefully never. You measure a distance unit with the ruler in your scope and adjust as needed. Switch to mrad.

2nd Annual Michigan Precision Rifle Challenge 2 slots left.

First let me say THANK YOU! I had a great time; the COF was challenging, there was great shooter turnout, the weather treated us way better than could have been expected, the prize table and sponsor list was fantastic, the ROs were friendly and had a great attitude, and it was the one match I...

Salt Bath Nitride experiences please. For 300 wm build

I shot out a SBN'd 6xc barrel in 1600 shots, running 105s @ 3050 so I don't personally believe it adds any appreciable amount of life. Additionally, from a logical/engineering perspective: Abrasive wear doesn't wear out barrels, or else the erosion wouldn't be greatest at the throat; it would...

Unorthodox methods that work for you

Another unconventional technique I use, is to size fired casemouths down a bit "undersized", and then use a sinclair (or K&M) mandrel to do final sizing to the INSIDE of the case neck. In my mind, consistent neck tension depends on the difference in diameter between the OD of the bullet and ID...
