    Rangrfinder

Sure thing, here is a link to the review: https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/review-leica-2700b-and-kestrel-elite-solution-part-i.6880981/ I have a Sig 2400 BDX as well, just not finished with the review yet, but let me know if you have any questions on those as well.

    Rangrfinder

Furman, There are lots of choices out there that might meet your needs. The more expensive ones will provide higher level ballistics information for your shots, while others, like the Leica 2400 or Sig 2200 are more basic in those terms, but do not lack in terms of ranging performance. Just...

Terrapin X vs. Geovid HD-B vs. Sig 2400

I just got off the phone with my Sig contact. It is correct that the 3000 will not be released in 2018, however, it is still on track for 2019 according to what I was told. That said, if you are looking for EL or Leica glass with an RF for the current price point on the 3000, you will be...

    coyote range finder

If you have the money and are good with the Vec X and it's form factor, while I have not tested one personally, I don't think you can go any better in it's price class or below. If you just want a basic RF that gives you LOS and maybe angle modified and dispenses with the ballistics stuff, I...

Compact LRF with programmable ballistic solver

Graywolf, I have not looked through the 1400's so I cannot comment. The optics on the 2200 and 2400 are supposed to be an upgrade, obviously they have a little more power, but I suspect the coatings might be improved as well if it is setup like the Kilo line, but I can't say for sure. I can...

Compact LRF with programmable ballistic solver

Graywolf, One thing I will recommend....look at the optics on the 1400 vs the higher end choices. I have not seen them personally, but I did buy my son a Kilo 850 some years ago without paying too much concern to optical quality. Until we went out to use it. We both find it difficult to use...

Compact LRF with programmable ballistic solver

I've got a 2400 BDX paired to a Kestrel as well as a Leica 2700b. They are both excellent devices, both with their strong points and weakpoints. I posted a longer review on the 2700b if you want details on that one, should have the one for the 2400 bdx done shortly. But suffice it to say...

    Leica 2400 R

I also have the Leica mount. Well made out of aluminum, it's a nice piece of kit!

Brown Santa brought me a 2400 BDX to test

I will be posting a lengthy review, but have been testing it out as much as I can between work and hunting trips. Of course, results will vary significantly based on conditions, but Sig claims, IIRC, 1kish on deer, 1800 yards on trees, and over 3k on 'reflective targets', not sure what that...

Brown Santa brought me a 2400 BDX to test

Sorry for the late response, been in Colorado hunting elk for a few weeks, just got back. I do have a Kestrel Elite, and have paired it to the 2400 it works like a champ so far in my limited testing. Using the RF with ABU only is also super easy, though it requires using your phone. I...

    Leica 2400 R

Blair, The 2400 does not measure barometric pressure or temp, only distance and angle. If you want a Leica RF to measure these forces, you need to get a 'B' model Leica, the 2700b, for example.

Brown Santa brought me a 2400 BDX to test

Look what brown santa left on my doorstep: Just got it and pulled it out of the box today. Been looking forward to testing this one out for a long time! Hope to run it through it's paces this season. First trip will be to Colorado for Elk, then run it through paces at my local range...

    Leica 2700b Review Update

Glad it was helpful, guys. Just an FYI, this is an update to the original review I posted on this board. There is a bit more info in that one if you have not read it already, if that is helpful.

    Leica HD-B ballistic function

Lenny, I just posted an update to my review on the 2700b which might be useful to you because I learned some interesting stuff about how Leica's software interacts with seriously VLD bullets. Check it out for more detail, but long and short, the farther you get from a 'G1' form factor bullet...

    Leica 2700b Review Update

With the start of the hunting season, I had a chance to do a little more testing with my 2700b and thought I would pass on a few interesting things I observed. As far as reach goes, I got ahold of a tripod mount made by Leica. Very nicely made, it allowed me to test some ranging out at Big...

    Leica 2400 R

The 2700 does as well. Just push the range button and you will get range, then push the secondary button and you can see angle, temp and pressure., at least that is how it works on the 'b' models.

    Leica 2400 R

Yes, the 2700 does, I assume the 2400 does as well, as did the 1600. They have stayed pretty consistent, as far as I can think, since the 1600b.

    Leica 2400 R

Fishkat, I don't have any experience with the 2400, have a fair amount with the 1600b and 2700b. Leica RF's seem to be very consistent in what they will do vs their stated ability, and my guess is this continues because the foundational hw/sw (beyond the emitter etc.) remains pretty...

    Leica 2400 R

No, the RF's in Leica's 'R' series work just like regular Sig kilos etc. They do not have onboard weather stations, nor do they offer ballistic solutions. They display line of site distance and angle modified distance. The user can then use the solver of their choice for a ballistic solution...

    Leica 2400 R

Canuck, If you are testing in ideal conditions, off a tripod and can barely get 2k off a barn, there is something wrong. I would recommend you reach out to Leica on that. The 2700b will do a whole lot better than that, not just my unit, but units from several folks I have talked to. Hand...
