    Rifle Scopes acog ????????????

Re: acog ???????????? The TA11 (3.5x) is very nice. It has generous eye relief and it is fast to use. As John pointed out, the "donut of death" is a great reticle also.

    Temp sensitivity of H4350

Re: Temp sensitivity of H4350 I'm going to back up everybody else. I shoot it out of my GAP .243 and I have checked the velocity at 90 and 20 degrees F. When comparing my notes, the difference in velocity was a only 10fps between the two temps (obviously it was 10fps faster when 90...

Rifle Scopes Got to play with some Trijicon toys last night.

Re: Got to play with some Trijicon toys last night SA - You are correct - The thickness of the reticle and post in the Accupoints are constrained by the illumination method. The ACOG's are also illuminated with fiber optics and tritium but it's done differently. Therefore the reticle can be...

    Rifle Scopes Which ACOG?

Re: Which ACOG? TAC: It can be used with NV. I would suggest the TA11 (3.5X). Better eye relief than the TA31's (4X) and it will get you to 300yards and beyond without a problem. As far as CQB...A 1X optic is really nice for CQB, but with training, the TA11 can be just about as effective...

    GAP .243 - 1000+ rounds later

Re: GAP .243 - 1000+ rounds later M - You are going to need to rework your load if you go to BN. I would expect that you won't have to go far though from where you are now. But YMMV....

    GAP .243 - 1000+ rounds later

Re: GAP .243 - 1000+ rounds later M - Bought the bullets that way from D. Tubb. At the time when my gun arrived, David was phasing out the moly bullets. So I didn't have a choice. Thinking back, I'm glad he was phasing out the moly bullets... I also shoot BN in my .338. I send my bullets...

    GAP .243 - 1000+ rounds later

Re: GAP .243 - 1000+ rounds later Boltripper - Thanks for bringing that question up - All bullets fired through the gun have been BN coated. I really like the BN coated bullets. No residue like moly and no barrel "prep". For example, after polishing the bore, it will only take 5 rounds (if...

    GAP .243 - 1000+ rounds later

I thought this may be useful for people inquiring about the .243's and what to expect out of barrel life. I currently have 1130 rounds down my Bartlein barreled .243 Win. I shoot it often in competition and also in F-Class. I clean the carbon out every 150-200 rounds. At 853 rounds, the...

    Question about 243 barrel life

Re: Question about 243 barrel life Keep in mind that Moon also was bumping up the powder charges at around 2,000 rounds to keep the velocity in the sweet spot (if I remember right). But, he told me that the accuracy was still there even at the high round counts.

    GAP M2008 Lapua Mag

Re: GAP M2008 Lapua Mag Mussman - Correct, only used RL25 with the 300SMK's. Although I have an urge to try Retumbo. DesertHK - I like the slightly faster twist also. At the time when I spec'd everything out, I thought my main bullet of choice would be the 250gr Scenar and occasionally I...

    GAP M2008 Lapua Mag

Well, I decided that I would share some of my findings regarding my GAP M2008 Lapua Mag. First off, specs and a picture. Specs: M2008 Lapua Action w/20 MOA base 28" Bartlein 1-9.7" twist barrel, MTU contour Badger FTE Badger Rings NF 5.5-22x50 w/NP-R1 Remington 40X trigger AICS 2.0 LA w/AIAW...

    Rifle Scopes Trijicon ACOG TA648

Re: Trijicon ACOG TA648 They are the same scope except for the reticle. The TA648 was designed for MG's. It's a large scope and if you are looking to put it on an AR15, I would recommend either the 4x or 3.5x.

Best Powder for .243 win + 115 DTAC

Re: Best Powder for .243 win + 115 DTAC I use H4350. It gives me ES in the low teens and my SD is single digits. I tried RL25 and I could NOT get the velocity that other people were. Accuracy is great and my velocity hardly changes with temp when using H4350. I have shot my load in 25...

    Gunsmithing dpms lr-308 triggers

Re: dpms lr-308 triggers I feel Geissele is the best trigger available. Have two of them and don't regret the purchase. They are easy to install, easy to adjust and most importantly..they stay adjusted. I have used JP, McCormick, RR National Match, etc., which are all good triggers, but...

    6.5x47 Lapua v .243 Win

Re: 6.5x47 Lapua v .243 Win I personally love my .243. I spoke with Rob, Mike, One-eyed Jack, etc., and when you get down to it, the .243 is a nice all-around cartridge. EASY to get ammo, easy to load for, has the performance to take everything from varmints to deer, low recoil, accurate...

    **.243 load w/105 Lapua SC, 115DTAC, & 115VLD's**

Re: **.243 load w/105 Lapua SC, 115DTAC, & 115VLD's** If you have the twist to handle it, (which it seems you do), shoot the 115 DTAC's. I have a 27" barrel and use H4350. The accuracy is phenominal. Start at 40gr's and work up.

    Rifle Scopes Trijicon RMR (pics)

Re: Trijicon RMR (pics) LW - It has a forged body and was built to take a drop onto concrete while on a fully loaded M16 (optic down). It should hold up just fine.
