    Garmin Xero C1 Pro chronograph

Having played with mine a bit, there’s one feature I wish it had. Clearing the data also resets user settings. I wish it didn’t. I reconfigure the data fields for my use, and I have to re-configure them when I delete all the sessions. Not a big deal by any stretch, but if anyone from Garmin is...

    Recoloring AICS Stock Skins/IMUNS Questions

I sprayed a set with the air dry ceracote. No prep other than wiping them down with alcohol. That was tears ago, and they still look great.

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro chronograph

Got mine yesterday. If you were wondering, it will not pick up nerf gun darts.

Any Hide vendors have them in stock? Or any vendors at all for that matter?

    Which "gucci" ar to get?

Get a JP dual charge upper, I think it's called the PSC-21 these days. I have had one for several years, and it's superb. Mine runs a 20" barrel, so it's on the heavy side, but you said weight wasn't an issue. With the right load (77SMK and TAC or 77TMK's and 8208XBR) it shoots pretty...

    69 gr TMK accuracy?

I’ve managed to get 77TMKs to perform at least as well as 77SMKs. To be fair, a buddy turned me on to a fantastic load and I just copied it. I’ve never gotten a 69 TMK to shoot. I sure wish Sierra would run 77TMKs soon!

Glock 44 and mounting an RMR

Be aware the extra mass of the RMR may cause the slide to short stroke with some ammo.

    Single vs 2 stage trigger

I have many of the triggers in the Geissele line up. When I'm shooting with an SSA-E, for example, I'm most often sending one shot at a target and then transitioning to the next, which for me necessitates dialing the scope. As a result, I get the first stage every shot. If I'm shooting...

    Teaching kids long range

Get him a buttstock with an adjustable cheek riser and fit the rifle to him. Kids have tiny heads and typically need a tall cheekpiece to get a cheek weld. If his head is wobbling all over and his parallax isn't perfect, he's going to suffer. I started both my kids on suppressed .22's as...

Having questionable optics or build issues, advice needed

Couldn't hurt to check if the rings are exactly the same height. If that's hard to measure for you, you could swap the front to rear and re-test. If you do that, I'd move that rear ring back 3 or 4 slots. Also double check that the front ring is vertically down tight to the scope base. In...

    Rifle Scopes Minox

I sent mine back to Germany right when Covid kicked off. Took forever. Like a year. Dunno what it would be like now all that silliness is over. I figured out I had a rifle problem, not a scope problem, about a week after I sent it. Stupid. At my request they checked it out and did make an...

Keeping track of what your rifles are sighted with?

I printed out and laminated tags for every rifle. Info I record is ammo used, zero distance, last MV, date of last cleaning, rounds since last cleaning, date and status of the zero, which suppressor was used, and of course some description of the rifle. Some of the data is in Sharpie (like...

    Low Mass Operating Systems Setup

I have several set up with JP LMOS and SCS. Love em. I had a factory JP with the aluminum BCG for a while, and the recoil impulse was amazing. I shot it quite a bit and didn't see much wear, but I wouldn't consider it a hard use part. I've had no reliability problems with LMOS, and I've shot...

Optic power question 7-35 vs 5-25

I have identical ATACR's in 5-25 and 7-35. Most matches get shot at 17x-19x. However, for load development or shooting very long with a spotter, sometimes I do crank the 35x all the way up. I'm not sure it's worth the cost delta, but if I had a magic wand I'd poof the 25x into another 35x.

Hunting & Fishing Fly rod help

I live 30-40 minutes from two great fisheries here in Colorado. I fish those a lot, and I try to fish all over the state when we're out camping including a fair number of very small streams. I carry a 9' 4wt and a 9' 6wt. Both are older G Loomis IMX rods. I guess I'm in my 30th year of...
