Gunsmithing removing a flash hider ?

Re: removing a flash hider ? What is the length of the barrel ? Is is 14 1/2" plus the FH making it 16" total length or is it a 16" barrel plus the FH making it 17 1/2" total. If the overal length is 16" then the FH is pinned and welded as per ATF regs. If 17 1/2" total it's just very tight...

Range Report Ballistics and zero from sub-sonic to supersonic

Re: Ballistics and zero from sub-sonic to supersonic Just to give you an idea. My Gap .308 is zeroed at 100 yds. with 175 SMKs running at 2650 fps (with can). When I shoot my 170 gn. subsonic load running at 1050 fps, I have to dial in 12 MOA to zero at 100 yds.

    Sidearms & Scatterguns XDS

Re: XDS Those of you looking for holsters I have found that the holsters that I have for my Glock 27 fit my XDS perfectly. Maybe just the few I have but they fit like a glove. I have not tried any SERPA styles which lock into the trigger guard so you may want to ensure that you have an...

    LMT MWS and heavy buffer

I run my LMT MWS suppressed most of the time. It functions great but I worry about about excessive wear since I know it is over gassed. Does anyone have any experience using one of Slash's extra heavy buffers with an LMT MWS to slow the action down a bit ? If so, does it run with no issues when...

Suppressors Suppressor sound reduction by caliber/rifle

Re: Suppressor sound reduction by caliber/rifle I for one am not too stupid to be able to put the asshole Caeli on ignore due to his people skills. The electrical engineering background that I have helped me figure that out.

    LMT MWS load

Anyone here have a handload that they have worked up that shoots well in a LMT MWS .308 with the 16" CL barrel ? I just picked one up and ran a existing load thru it that my GAP .308 loves. That being 43.4 gr. of RL-15 behind a 175 SMK. The LMT shot it around 1 MOA. I didn't have any 168s loaded...

    Mega MATEN thoughts

I have been looking for a 7.62 gas gun for a while and ran across this one locally. I have not heard a lot regarding them as far as accuracy and function are concerned. This one was built by the owner after purchasing the upper and lower receivers from Mega using the below listed components. He...

Sidearms & Scatterguns XDs (singlestack 45) vs. XD and XDM

Re: XDs (singlestack 45) vs. XD and XDM I have an XDs and have put about 250 rds thru it. Great little gun and is accurate as all hell for what it is. The only issue that I experienced was intermittant failure to go into full battery lock up (short by about 1-2 mm). The striker would still...

    Tannerite

Re: Tannerite According to the ATFE regs that are posted on Tannerites site you can transport it in it's 2 component form with no issues. Once you mix it it cannot be transported since it is now a binary explosive. No problem shooting it as long as it is not prohibited in your locality.

Re: Tannerite Correct on the 95 / 5 mixture. Thats what I use. I do not know how I came up with the 85 / 15 numbers. In response to Helters post. "I'd think you would need some potassium perchlorate in there to make it go boom from being shot..." <span style="font-weight: bold">Do not under...

    Tannerite

Re: Tannerite Cheapest way is to make it youself. Roughly 85% amonium nitrate (34-0-0 fertilizer) and 15% aluminum powder by weight(Egay). Price works out to be about 80 cents a pound. You can buy up to 25 lbs. of 34-0-0 with no legal issues at all. Not quite as good as Tannerite but still...

Anyone here reload for 6.8 SPC ?

Just starting to work up a load for my 6.8 SPC spec II on the AR platform using the new Hornady 120 gr. SST. Have any of you guys had any experience with the bullet ? The hot powder right now is supposed to be A2200 but I can't locate any local and don't want to pay hazmat just for a pound. I am...
