I have two muzzle Brakes from Muzzle Brakes & More - Beast 3 port Brake and both were cherakoted black and are holding up fine.

I know some will not like this option, but I have two of these scopes and they are a heck of a lot of scope for <$500 and the S system works. If you are on a budget this is a good option and you will have no problem selling it if you want to upgrade later.

+1 on the Muzze Brakes and More product. I have two of the Beast 3 port 2-piece Self Timing Brakes in 6.5 Creedmoor and the Brakes are ecpxcellent quality. The owner Nathan is great!
I guess sometimes it depends on what you are trying to accomplish in terms of accuracy and what type of shooter and skills you have? I have seen many chase accuracy by throwing $ at it when what they really need is more experience putting rounds down range and get instruction to become better...
I used a Taylor Engineering Stock on my M40 Replica - it came unfinished and the inletting was excellent. The Walnut was great and I used my methods to finish the stock.

This one is not that boring IMHO and the only 700 I own - turn back time to 1966 or so! Not inexpensive though, but I suppose you can make them as boring or not depending on your project and bank account. This one is so simple, but fun to shoot.
