Rifle Scopes I'm so tired of Butler Creek

That depends on the scope. We'll be test fitting a bunch of scopes over the next several weeks and begin taking orders on a scope by scope basis when the caps pass the final fit check.

Rifle Scopes AADMOUNT Flip Up Caps Scope Request/Measurement Thread

It's a nylon based plastic; nice and strong. Much of their strength though comes from the design--simply having enough material where it's needed. It's nothing fancy or complicated--just not done half assed. You'll have to try very hard to break these things. So, anybody got measurements for...

Rifle Scopes AADMOUNT Flip Up Caps Scope Request/Measurement Thread

That's $50 each cover. After I get my head above water with these things and get through this initial wave, I will certainly be looking for ways to streamline production and reduce cost so it's very possible the price will come down in the future. But right now with the number of people who...

It'll vary a bit from model to model, but most will be around .090 at the thickest spot.

Anybody able to get some NF measurements yet? NSX, F1, ATACR? Thanks

Rifle Scopes AADMOUNT Flip Up Caps Scope Request/Measurement Thread

Thanks guys. I'll try to keep the price around $50 each for now. There will probably be exceptions though--that monster 72mm Henny will probably be a few bones extra, etc.

Don't worry, for each new model I'll be making prototypes for test fitting (probably ask for volunteers to help with that as well). If they're a little too tight or too loose I can easily tweak the design before they go into production. That said, people should feel free to double check scopes...

It shouldn't be a problem, even with the caps open that lever is locked in there pretty solidly (there are features on it you can't see). With the caps closed it's basically impossible to remove without a pliers or a hammer. Putting it at BDC runs into interference problems with many rifles...

Don't worry about it. I'm sure somebody else with the scope will chime in soon. Thanks.

Yes, the eyepieces are the same so that's taken care of. And a 30mm would be a universal fit for any straight tubed scope so it's definitely on the list. I'll have more testing to do to see if the same design works well when scaled down that far so it'll be a bit longer for that one...

Rifle Scopes I'm so tired of Butler Creek

Post up measurements in this thread: http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/snipers-hide-rifle-scopes/214140-aadmount-flip-up-caps-scope-request-measurement-thread.html and I'll get right on it.

If you bring that chick in your avatar, I'll give you a set for free! Pics from the other thread. These are still prototypes but they're pretty close to the final product:

Thanks, those are way too big but I'll see if that manufacturer offers something in a size that will work. The price seems to vary a lot depending upon how commonly used it is. But I am looking. Hopefully I'll have the PST's ready to go in about a month. My plan is to let people know here...

(See this thread: http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/snipers-hide-rifle-scopes/206830-im-so-tired-butler-creek.html for pics/conversation on these covers.) While the stiffer/stronger material these scope caps are made from makes them function better than more "rubbery" materials, this also...

Rifle Scopes I'm so tired of Butler Creek

It's a pretty stiff/strong plastic. They can be hard to push on but they won't scratch. While I think they function better than those of a more rubbery material, they don't stretch as much when means they're much less "one size fits many" as it needs to be pretty precise. I'll start a new...

Darn it. Don't you people know how busy I am already? :) Are you really going to make me bring these to market? I started designing/developing them really just for my own use as I'm as tired as everybody else with BC's that won't last a day of...

Rifle Scopes Ideas on how to keep aluminum rings tight

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. Well designed, high quality rings will not need loctite, rosin, Gorrilla glue, Elmer's, RTV, duct tape or any other such goop in order to function properly. Yes, this includes aluminum rings. Virtually all of the "issues" brought up on the 'net about...

New build for the 6.5 Grendel Wildcat fans... 6mm Fat Rat

I wonder if you have a headspacing issue or something. Have you tried backing off the resizing die a ways and seeing if you can still chamber the brass?

Yeah, I prefer prone but that time of year in that location the vegetation is just way too high. It does add to the difficulty as the wind will wiggle the entire vehicle as well as push the bullet around in flight. I'm not the best person to ask as I've just started messing with the...
