    New Beanland 7wsm Done

Re: New Beanland 7wsm Done I currently do not, but i may in the near future. I do most of my chambering on a Southbend Heavy 10 that is not setup to cut metric threads. I do have a Nardini lathe that will cut metric threads and i may start doing those barrels on it very soon. I have and...

    Rifle Scopes 3-12x50 or 4-16x50

Re: 3-12x50 or 4-16x50 You really don't need that much travel unless you are trying to shoot a 308 past 1000 yards as long as you are using a 20 moa base. I usually don't run my 5 to 25 S&B over 15 power during a match and alot of the time it is on 12, as long as the targets are not over...

    Rifle Scopes hensold 4-16x56

Re: hensold 4-16x56 I was too use to the p4 fine reticle in my S&B scopes. I just could not get used the the bigger crosshair and mil dots. Decided to keep them all the same. It was a very nice scope. Liked it alot other than that.

    Rifle Scopes hensold 4-16x56

Re: hensold 4-16x56 That 20 moa base will be fine. I had one for a short time and had about the same travel up as you. You need to take the top cap off and adjust the piece up or down (i can't remember without the manuel) that the screw in the center of the turret screws into. Adjust it...

Gunsmithing AICS 1.5 with Surgeon Action

Re: AICS 1.5 with Surgeon Action You will have to relieve under the bolt handle. You should also at least bed the rear tang to keep from putting stress in that area and bending it. You will notice if you tighten the rear screw with the front screw left out it will pull the front of the...

    Rifle Scopes Hensoldt FFP

Re: Hensoldt FFP I just purchased on of these scopes. I run the S&B's with the p4 fine reticles in all of them. I really liked the optics and design of the scope, but the crosshairs were just too thick for my taste. I returned the scope for another Schmidt.

6x47L data for 115gr berger bullets needed

Re: 6x47L data for 115gr berger bullets needed I start to get sticky bolt lifts with 40.7 grains and a 105 berger. I have built quite a few of these and i have never been able to get even close to that. I sure would not think your brass would last very long at that load.

6x47L data for 115gr berger bullets needed

Re: 6x47L data for 115gr berger bullets needed Lee, try starting at 38.5 and working up a little. You may get to 40 but i don't think you will make 42 grains, at least with the current lots of 4350.

    Gunsmithing Badger Action breaching ring?

Re: Badger Action breaching ring? The badger ring located in the correct position by one pin. The same pin that also locates the top rail. The end of the barrel shank buts up against it at the same time the barrel shoulder buts up against the action face. This is what holds the ring in...

    Gunsmithing Cerakote measuring?

Re: Cerakote measuring? I use the graduated cyilinder that it comes with and mix small batches all the time. It works pretty well for me. I buy the 1cc syringes at walmart. Pour 24 cc of cerakote in the graduated cylinder and 1cc of hardner. Cut it in half if you need to or 1/4. I pour...

Do I need to Skim Bed My AICS 1.5?

Re: Do I need to Skim Bed My AICS 1.5? I think it is better to bed it. I put a tac 30 in one for a customer and you could see daylight behind part of the lug. That can't be good. I just think it's better to bed it. He said it shot better after the bedding. It may work fine for some and...

    Rifle Scopes Range Finders?

Re: Range Finders? The PRF does have one of the biggest beams. The Victory RF has one of the smallest. Just looking at the new Leicas. The beam on them is just as small as the Zeiss RF's.

    6x47L necking down trouble.

Re: 6x47L necking down trouble. Lee, Make sure your expander button is below the neck. Be sure and lube the inside of the necks. I use dry imperial lube or moly. You have to use that button in order to expand the neck back out. If you remove the button you will have to run them over a...

Gunsmithing Stiller Predator SA & AICS

Re: Stiller Predator SA & AICS I put one in a AICS stock and it did exactly the same thing. I had to grind down the magazine feed lips just a little. All is fine now. It would bend the lip on the right side in when you close the bolt.
