    6gt

CK GRT calculates it by physical limits. The length of the case, bullet OAL, the COAL. The shorter the COAL the more bullet is in the case. So the 100% fill is dependent upon free bore available and bullet jump. The deeper the bullet the smaller the volume available. The other part of the...

    6gt

My experience is slower burning powders feel softer, less snappy, than fast burning powders. This is untested and only GRTs guesstimates for H4831 with my case volume (44.1) and 27” barrel and 112 MB loaded 20K off the lands. GRT says 38 grains should theoretically yield 2836 fps with 104%...

How many rounds on the barrel?

    22GT load data

.218 bore or undersized .219 bore? Throat and barrel cleaned and checked with bore scope? Very dry, low moisture powder? Spit balling here. That speed is coming from somewhere.

    Is this unusual? I don’t run H4350.

SOLD Mighty Armory Gold Match 6mm BR FL Sizing Die

Not true. The mandrel sizing portion is below the neck as it gets sized down. It sizes when the die goes back up. I have a MA Creedmoor die.

SOLD Mighty Armory Gold Match 6mm BR FL Sizing Die

Just curious how far it takes it down without the mandrel. Some dies, like Forster 6 BR dies take the neck too far down and then stretch it back out. Forster told me it was because most BR dies are sold to bench rest guys who turn their necks so they need to do this. That’s why I was asking...

    Zermatt Origin barrel changing question.

I clamp my barrel vise in my bench vise. But mount on the leg out of the way doesn’t seem like a bad idea at all.

Without mandrel installed what are the necks sized to?

I was thinking the same thing!

That sounds promising, especially when I have 24 pounds of it. Thanks for the info!

Wow, and here I am running RL23 in my 22GT with 88s at 3055. But, GRT says it’s only about 49K PSI. I may have to give it a shot in my 6 GT too.

I noticed Alpha has a 22 Dasher reamer with a .169” free bore. Maybe this is the way to go? I wonder if I could use my 4166 with this or would need a slower burning powder? 🤔

The loaded necks were .253" prior to turning? I like 5-6 thou clearance on the necks. That would take a reamer with a .258/259 neck, meaning custom order for sure.

How thick were the the Peterson before turning? I despise turning hundreds up pieces of brass and then lose them at matches. How many firings do you have on them? Have you lost any to loose primer pockets? I found a couple hundred pieces of Lapua Dasher brass I bought years ago that is supposed...

    .22 br

Has anybody shooting the 22BR with 88 ELDMs at 3000 fps or more checked the pressures in Quick Load or GRT? I’m just curious, I’m running a 22 GT with 88s and RL 23 at 3050 and GRT says the pressure is under 50K PSI, so low pressure. When this barrel is toast I’m considering a 22 BR, BRA or...

What is the diameter of the neck with seated bullet? Did you have to neck turn? Doughnuts? What is the neck size of the reamer you used?

Aero Precision Solus Bravo vs Tikka

I have a Solus and CDG. I think they are both pretty nice. You can get the Solus for well under the $899 price and it’s available now so there is that. The 60° bolt lift is surprisingly much less than the 70° bolt lift of my CDG which has a longer bolt handle even. The actuation of the bolt is...
