    chasing ES Now what?

Re: chasing ES Now what? R22 is a good powder, and should yield low ES for your brass and bullet combination. I've used this personally. I would increase the powder charge in small increments up to about 71.5 and maybe up to 72+, while watching for pressure signs. Also, if you have neck...

    Hornady 178 BTHP loads?

Re: Hornady 178 BTHP loads? 47.7 is a stout load with a 175/178 bullet. Just start lower and work up to see what shoots best. 2745 with a 175 and 24" is pretty fast. We were running them 2750ish, one rifle higher, one rifle lower due to barrel length differences. It shoots very well. 2000MR...

    Hornady 178 BTHP loads?

Re: Hornady 178 BTHP loads? I'd reccomend Alliant's 2000 MR powder. You will get 50-100 fps faster than Varget, it's temp insensative, shoots great, and meters very well.

Re: Group size As good as you can get! 1/2" to 3/4" is good. 1" is ok.

Re: How for 100 rds .308 with... Your first time loading will probably take you 2-3 hours with all the set-up. Once you are set up and know what to do, it will take you about an hour to 1.5 hours to load 100 rounds. It's not that bad.

Re: 260 or 260 ai ?? 260 Rem (non AI) will do you fine. It's not worth the head ache for the extra 75 fps you get.

accurate and reliable digital powder scale

Re: accurate and reliable digital powder scale I load all my hunting and match ammo on an AccuLab 123 that is accurate to .02 grains. .02 grains is about the size of 1 kernel of extruded powder. So anything finner than .02 grains won't help you any more. The issue with a scale accurate to...

    Primers for 338 Lapua Magnum

Re: Primers for 338 Lapua Magnum The Federal 215M primers have a thinner cup, and will flatten a little easier than others. So, I never look at the primer as a pressure sign (except your obvious issues, like a pierced primer). Shiny spots on the case head stamp, ejector marks, and sticky bolt...
