.260 Rem/ which bushing for the sizer die?

Re: .260 Rem/ which bushing for the sizer die? I use a .289" with Rem brass. If you get Lapua, you might need a little bit bigger size, since their brass is a little thicker in the neck.

Powder for 208gr in .308 other than RL17?

Re: Powder for 208gr in .308 other than RL17? Alliant's 2000MR would be a great powder for this. I have had great results with 175 SMK and 178 A-max, and getting 75 to 100 fps over normal velocities you'd see with R15 and Varget. It is also a temp stable powder.

    Accurate Scales?

Re: Accurate Scales? +1 for the CM and Acculab set-up. That's how I load all my match ammo. It works very well.

    Digital scale information?

Re: Digital scale information? Look into an AccuLab 123 type scale. It's accurate to .02 grains. You can have the RCBS CM throw the initial charge .1 to .2 grains low, and trickle up on the AccuLab. It works for me. I would find it very impressive is a $20 scale was truely accurate to .02...

    243 Crimping issues....

Re: 243 Crimping issues.... Your neck die does not have a tight enough neck bushing to properly size the neck. Just FL size the brass and you should be fine.

    load development and suppressors

Re: load development and suppressors You never know how it will change your load until you shoot it. Some rifles show no change in POI or accuracy. The suppressor will increase your fps and change the harmonics of the barrel, which can (but not always) effect the accuracy of the load. Also, a...

300 WSM with Berger 230 OTM Tactical

Re: 300 WSM with Berger 230 OTM Tactical I love the heavy bullets in a magnum. We have been playing with the Hornady 225 grain BTHP out to a mile, and they are awesome! also, if you are testing these heavy bullets a 100 yards, you may not get a true accuracy reading. I've seen they need...

    TRG vs. AI

Re: TRG vs. AI The TRG is an awesome rifle. The stock fits me much better than an AI. Find someone local that has both, and get behind the gun so you can determine what you like before buying. On the AI stock, you either love it or hate it. I don't care for it. But the AI rifle itself is an...

    260 and 130gr bullets?

Re: 260 and 130gr bullets? Yes. I am running the 130 hunting Berger VLD's in my 260 at 2950 fps in a 28" barrel. They shoot freakin' awesome! I tip my bullets to get a little more BC. I only give up about 4" more wind at 1K over my 140 VLD's, but the 130's are much flatter. I will be running...

    Fire-forming .300WM brass...?

Re: Fire-forming .300WM brass...? I've never measured the head space expansion on new brass to fired brass. There's not much you can do about it, honestly. After firing, I neck size my 300Wm brass, and chamber check them. If it needs a FL sizing, I bump it back .001-.002" on the shoulder, and...

308 with berger 185 BTLR - how long can you go?

Re: 308 with berger 185 BTLR - how long can you go? +1 for what turbo said. It depends on how "rough" you will be with the ammo. The bullet should be seated deep enough to function fine. Just be carefull to not have any pressure on the bullet to cause it to turn in the case and induce...

Bullet length discrepency with QL and measuring

Re: Bullet length discrepency with QL and measuring I use QL as a guide, not the bible. Go shoot your test loads, and watch for pressure signs- sticky bolt lift and shiney spots on the case head. QL should get you close, but there are many variables to effect the exact pressures. What loads...
