Thermal dissipator fit under non JP handguards

Starts with a rail, as you’ve noted. No drilling anything across multiple platforms using SLR handguards.

Thermal dissipator fit under non JP handguards

Think this is a SLR Helix, but 16” on +2 gas Krieger from Keystone. Superlative AGB adjustment screw right at flush with front of handguard, on a MATEN build of my own. What other considerations am I missing, respectfully?

Thermal dissipator fit under non JP handguards

Thanks for replies. Considering there will be somewhat limited shot strings, and the spare variety of alternate handguards with desired features, we decided to put off installing the TD for now and pick up an SLR. If desired in the future, will modify a TD to fit selected HG. My friend is...

Thermal dissipator fit under non JP handguards

I do know the Smoke Composites HG will do it, but it’s like holding the operating end of a baseball bat-light for sure, but a large OD.

Thermal dissipator fit under non JP handguards

About to begin a build on a Mega MATEN receiver set for a friend who has chosen to use an available 22” JP Supermatch 6.5CM +2 gas barrel. Will also employ Superlative AGB for same. Deciding whether to go with thermal dissipator now or wait and see how it shoots without, and pretty unlikely...

Vista (Revelyst) announces layoffs, including Bushnell

Rare is the publicly held or private equity company that does not expect/demand that their/your future performance goals exceed the previous year’s earnings. Executive bonuses hinge on same, and all else is secondary to those expectations, whether employee pay/benefits/satisfaction, financial...

What did you do in the reloading room today?

Let’s just say it was done in the reloading room/garage/every project room. Have incubated this task for some time now, but finally finished another more portable bench for our 1k range at the ranch. Old corian counter top material repurposed for shooting bench top, some pipe mounts from Urban...

Would you get into 6.5 Grendel in 2024?

About 95% of my Grendel mags are ASC from over a ten year+ period. In every bit the manner we tune our rifles, I take whatever time necessary to tune/deburr/smooth all of the feed edges, as well as drop the feed height of end of mags by a sixteenth or so, to remove any impediments to proper...

    N 133 with 75-80 grain bullets in 223 and 223 Ackley

Been a regular user of AR Comp in 223 using 22.1gr with 75gr Hornady BTHP’s. Primary powder for 6.5 Grendel as well. Always looking for temp stable alternatives with pricing of ARC being what it is these days. VV seems a viable option based on a bunch of collective feedback here. Molon seems...

~1.3" 34mm cantilever mount on AR?

I run a DMR2PRO and a LRTSi on two AR10’s with no clearance or eye relief issues. A cantilever for certain, just isn’t excessively long and sits close to front of upper receiver pic rail.

Would you get into 6.5 Grendel in 2024?

This was an exceptional string for SD, and most others run 5-7 SD, but 2550ish is my everyday load using 120 Scenar L, 27.0gr AR Comp, CCI450 at 2.225 OAL, which is about .020-.025 off lands in 20” Proof CF barrel. Not a universal load for all my Grendel’s, but damn close. Velocity varies by...

Would you get into 6.5 Grendel in 2024?

I’ll take a slightly more reasonable approach to this whole argument, as there is no point arguing the merits of either caliber, as they’re both worthy in sensible, real world applications. My whole reasoning behind Grendel, and as an early adopter of the Grendel and owner of multiple other 6.5...

    6.5 Grendel

Something to add about AR Comp, I’ve also had very good accuracy, consistency and low SD’s with 75/77’s in 223, 155’s in 308 and in a pinch, light 120/123’s in a 6.5CM. Not the highest velocity, but very predictable and again, consistent. In the last few years of having to manage components...

    6.5 Grendel

Am in TX Hill Country and also subject to big temp swings throughout the year. I load for a handful of Grendel’s from 18-24”, and have had excellent accuracy and temp stability with AR Comp and 120-123gr Nosler BT/CC, Hornady SST, Lapua Scenars and Sierra TGK/BTHP. All between 2500-2550...
