    New here, Seeking Advice/Build for AR-15 5.56

As others have said, you really have a ton of choices. LaRue UU for $750 would be a solid choice and give you a lot of value. (I have owned a couple of LaRue uppers and they were all very accurate.) Given your budget, that will leave you $5-600 for a complete lower, or to build your own...

    77gr norma 223 on sale

Website says "made in Germany in close cooperation with RUAG's defense and law enforcement division", so I'll take them at their word. Also have some MEN 56gr. ammo which I know is German. Molon has tested this ammo (MEN) and was getting 10 shot groups that averaged approximately 1.3 MOA. I...

    77gr norma 223 on sale

Bought 200 rounds of 77 SMK and 300 rounds of 55 gr. which I think is of either Swiss or German mfg. and I hope will be of pretty high quality.

Does this look "unfired" to you?

Tacos, since you "unintentionally" won a GB auction it sounds like you put in a pretty low bid and were pleasantly surprised that you were the high bidder. I get that if you plan to resell it there's a difference between "unfired" and 50-100 rounds down the pipe. But if you plan on keeping the...

Semi-Automatic Memorial Day Deals, post here.

Saw the title of the thread and thought I would post a link to Geissele sale. :) You beat me to it. If I didn't already have multiple AR's I would have jumped on the 11.5" Super Duty. Instead I just picked up an H2 and H3 buffer/ buffer spring combo.

Sheepdog warrior long range class or Barbour creek?

Crick24 - thanks for your review. Dave - if you end up taking a class please post a write up. As I said before, I used to live about 40 minutes from them and considered signing up for a course, but never got around to it/could never find the time. The only other thing I can add, as someone...

Sheepdog warrior long range class or Barbour creek?

Exactly. Really nice facility. And again, if you live in the Northeast, there just aren't a lot of places where you can shoot out to 1000. I know the owner (a little bit) and when he first opened a couple of years ago he had to deal with a couple of unreasonable neighbors. He's trying to...

    Which Dead Air can?

You need to decide on how you plan to use the can, that will dictate your choice. The Nomad Ti is an awesome can and incredibly light. If you're willing to accept the limitations that come with Ti that would be my choice. I also like the Xeno mount. But you can't put one on a 10.5" AR or do...

Sheepdog warrior long range class or Barbour creek?

I agree it's not the greatest name, but it is a nice facility. And if you live in the northeast there aren't a ton of places you can shoot out to 1,000 yards. Also, the owner has invested a fair amount of money to get the place up and running and it would be great if he could make a go of it.

    Suppressor advice

11.5" PWS would make a pretty nice host. Put a Sandman S on it if durability is a concern and you plan to do mag dumps. Otherwise take a look at the Nomad. I also have a Nomad TI and it is insanely light and has a really nice sound signature. Of course it's TI, so you have to keep the heat...

Sheepdog warrior long range class or Barbour creek?

Never took a class there, but I've shot there probably a couple of dozen times when I used to live in Tannersville. Facility is pretty nice and the owner is a good guy. Not a ton of wind compared to where I'm living now (CO), but the thousand yard targets can be challenging because of the way...

    Suppressors Deadair choice-precision, hunting, AR's

I recently bought a Sandman S and a Nomad Ti. The Sandman gets swapped between a couple of different AR's, at least one of which is 10.5". If you wanted to do mag dumps or put it on a short barreled AR, this would be the way to go. Also, love KeyMo attachment system. However, it sounds like...

    Suppressors Form 4 wait time

OK, so here's a weird one. I have 3 suppressors in jail. On two of them I did the paperwork in July of 2021. The third the paperwork was submitted in January, 2022. Although e-file had come on line by then, my FFL/SOT didn't have electronic filing set up yet. Guess what. The paper one we...

    Suppressors Form 4 wait time

Here's a little hope. Sent in paperwork for two suppressors in mid-July. Both came back last week. So just about 9 months. But I am a little pissed that the e-file ones are coming back so fast. Did another one a couple of months ago. Unfortunately, my SOT was having trouble doing e-file...

Looking for some help with a tripod

MPHReallyrightstuff and Thermal Optics - Thank you for your posts. Still trying to wrap my head around the costs, but I understand that you get what you pay for and no one ever said anything associated with long range shooting was cheap.;) It's really great to have mfg's. and vendors actually...

Looking for some help with a tripod

Talking to a couple of long range guys at my local gun club. I've done some long range shooting, but honestly have been pretty half-assed about it. Local club goes out to 600, but I'm surrounded by BLM land and am discovering that there are a couple of places you can go out to 1000 and beyond...

WTF is going on with KAC stuff?

I've run both piston and DI guns and like them both. But don't piston guns have advantages in some areas? For example, I've always just taken it on faith that piston guns are a better option if you are running suppressed. (Don't have any personal experience with this, since the three...

Help for chose a .308 precision rifle

I suspect you're going to get greater accuracy out of a JP (if that's available to you) than from a KAC or Scar. That's nothing against the latter two rifles, but they focus as much on ruggedness and reliability, whereas with JP the primary focus is accuracy. Georgia Precision GAP10 should...

    Knights armament SR 25 accuracy?

So, upper has arrived and I've mounted an extra Sig red dot I had lying around and mated it with a MARS lower I just built up. Upper is a 10.5" police trade in that I picked up pretty cheap on Gunbroker. I've had pretty good luck with a couple of police trade ins in the past ... they are...

    Target sports USA

Was a member for several years and was a member when Covid hit, after which it was nearly worthless. Free shipping and a slight discount on prices not worth much when they had none of the ammo I was interested in in stock. Been on their website recently, and they are starting to show more...
