Factory rifle accuracy vs. Custom rifles

Fair enough but for $4k it better shoot or it better get fixed. IMO.

Factory rifle accuracy vs. Custom rifles

A custom rifle is not assurance, it's a guarantee. A factory rifle is a role of a 1000 sided dice with one side being much larger than the rest. You will be able to tell how good of a shooter you are and how inconsistent factory rifles are once you get behind a custom and produce not only...

LMT MWS chronicles continue: talked to Gene at LMT today

I will be an honest LMT MWS owner. My factory 16" .308 CL barrel shoots like crap (2 MOA). Ya, I was disappointed too. I did have a Rock barrel chambered in .260 barrel spun up in a used factory barrel extension and gas block i bought off the hide. It shoots ~.6 @ 100 yards and can hit at...

Any 16-19" shorty 6.5 Creedmoor or 260rems out there?

I cut my bartlein .260 to 17" with a set back chamber. The barrel had 3K rounds on it before I cut it. A 140 AMAX and 44.5gr of H4350 goes about 2600 according to my dope.

Thoughts On 300 Blk Out Rem 700 For My Daughter

I would choose .30 over anything 6mm, 6.5mm, and 7mm also because of the short barrel length needed and bullet selection as well.

Thoughts On 300 Blk Out Rem 700 For My Daughter

Just because a gun is a .308 doesn't mean a 175 needs to be used. There are 110gr .30cal bullets that would be great for 150 yard shots. Since you have a good amount of brass already done brass prep doesn't matter. The 308 offers more flexibility down the road with the benefits of low recoil now.

    18.5 or 20" barrel delima

It depends on how it balances more than it's ballistic performance in my opinion. I say go 16" an get a can.

Thoughts On 300 Blk Out Rem 700 For My Daughter

A 16" .308 Winchester bolt gun with a fast twist will do everything a 16" 300BLK bolt gun will do and more without all the brass prep. Just sayin...

    .260 vrs. 6.5 Creedmoor

It's not like the motherfucker asked if he should brake in his barrel. he asked .260 vs 6.5cm. there is more to the discussion other than ballistic performance like case design, which is something not often talked about but plays a major factor in the release of new cartridges. I guess we could...

    .260 vrs. 6.5 Creedmoor

You will have more room to chase the lands/load your cartridges long with the creedmoor.

STOLEN RIFLE - 1/19/2014 (Oregon City, Oregon)

Hopefully it's in a usable condition and shoots straight aside from the stock and hopefully NF takes care of you.

Remington 700 fired while bolt closing and on safe

Or, other than being molested by a previous owner, the trigger could have been oiled by a previous owner having a bunch of caramelized oil/dirt/funk buildup preventing things from working as intended.

What is doing this to my brass

I've expanded case mouths that have been smashed into gravel with car tires. They were dented all over the body but they didn't crack and the head was good so I said "fuck it". The all feed, fire, and eject. They were used for 3G short range stuff. They all hit the target. I could not tell...

I like it. The level is a little too "High Speed" for me though. Maybe they will offer it without it.?

If that's what you're thinking, you could go shorter on your 6.5CM. I chopped my old bartlein to 17" and I'm getting around 2600fps with a 140AMAX and 43.5gr of H4350.

There could be a formula. If it exists I haven't heard of it. If speed is your goal I would do a 6.5 SAUM. I just don't think the 6.5CM has enough case capacity no matter what manageable barrel length you choose. That's just my opinion.

The following is all in my opinion: A properly done bed job will always be superior in that it does not introduce tension into the barreled action unless the lug and rear tang area of the chassis are bedded. With a properly done bed job the show line will go all the way to the action for a...

I had a 24" bartlien chambered in .260. New the barrel with 44.5gr of H4350 and a 140 AMAX got me 2850fps with pressure signs. 3K rounds later it goes 2735fps with the same load and zero pressure.
