    Ordering a GAP-10?

I would do a 16" .308 if you're not shooting past 600 that often. it will be much more handy and do most of what you need. If you shoot a lot I would shy away from the 6.5mm since you'll get about half the barrel life of a .308.

< $1500 "just works" bolt action

If you're into the R700 you could get an SPS TAC in .308 with a threaded barrel and put it in an XRAY. I think that along with a decent scope and you should be good till you want to upgrade the trigger, barrel, etc. R700's might not shoot the best but they have the upper hand in the aftermarket...

Remington SPS 300 Blackout – Worth Having?

Ya. I'll be honest. I really didn't mess with changing the OAL. I had my die set up to seat 175SMK's. I used the same setting to seat the 245's. They fit in the mag and ran. Like you said, I guess I'm fortunate.

Remington SPS 300 Blackout – Worth Having?

Missouri Bullet Company They will be badass. Give them a shot. AA1680 is the powder I used. They cycle in an 8" AR15.

Remington SPS 300 Blackout – Worth Having?

That make sense from your standpoint of not needing the power at distance and not wanting the recoil. Powder selection for subs is another very valid point as well but to be honest, I can not find any type of pistol powder anywhere. I can appreciate tinkering with odd calibers as well. I was...

Remington SPS 300 Blackout – Worth Having?

My 16" R700 TAC 1-10" twist .308WIN barrel stabilizes 247gr hard cast lead bullets subsonic.

Remington SPS 300 Blackout – Worth Having?

He asked if it is worth the money so i injected my opinion and how my opinion came to fruition. In my opinion it is not simply because a .308WIN will do everything a 300BLK will do and more including subsonic loads. Furthermore, should the OP decide he wanted to sell it in the future it will...

Remington SPS 300 Blackout – Worth Having?

I would say unless you're going to SBR and suppress it, no. What is a 16" 300BLK bolt going to do that a 16" .308WIN won't?

    XM193 GTG for AR500?

100 yards is the safe minimum distance for rifle on steel. Not only for your steel but for bullet splatter as well. We've shot it at shorter distances bit it pocks the steel. You should be able shoot anything that a magnet won't stick to and bullets going less than 3200fps at ar500 over 100...

Actual Jeff's nickname is Flounder. He was with GAP since day one as well. Some know him as Jeff and others know him as Flounder. It's a Finding Nemo reference. Kind of like how my name is Ryan but most people know me as Gump. Either way he'll get you squared away.

Barrel Bedding: Yes or No (troubleshooting hot barrel vertical stringing)

The barrel channel can be opened up as well to prevent the contact from occurring without a pad. The rifle I'm building at the moment doesn't have a pad. I'm going to see what it takes to make it flex into the barrel and open the channel up as it needs it prior to paint. Honestly, I don't really...

Barrel Bedding: Yes or No (troubleshooting hot barrel vertical stringing)

I'm not saying the article is incorrect with respect to tuning the screws. In all honesty it sounds like tuning the action screws is something that should be done on stocks with chassis or chassis all together since they all will induce tension into the barreled action. A full bed job should...
