Rifle Scopes S&B : New 3-27x PMII -- On the site!

I'll restate: EU Directive, 1999/44/EC, that deals with a two-year warranty was put into place to ensure certain MINIMUM protections for consumers purchasing across borders in the EU. Nowhere does it "dictate" reduction to a two-year warranty, it dictates a MINIMUM two-year protection period...

Advanced Marksmanship Practical Tactical Practice - Avoiding Group Shots

Old thread, new gun, first time. GAP Crusader .308, FGMM 168gr, prone with bipod and rear bag. 1/2" dot target, 10-round string after doing some chrono-ing of various factory loads. Shot from top down, left to right. Shot 9 was thrown when I shifted a touch to get more comfortable and was not on...

Rifle Scopes S&B : New 3-27x PMII -- On the site!

I love my S&B 3-20x50 and S&B took care of a problem I had with an erector assembly that needed replaced, no problem. I'd buy more S&B scopes, because they rock. Having said that, the EU Directive, 1999/44/EC, that deals with a two-year warranty was put into place to ensure certain minimum...

    Rifle Scopes 1-8 scope options...

Depends on the application. I run the Swaro on my 3-gun rilfe and love it, but it's designed for holds. If you want to dial things in, it's not an option since it doesn't have target/tactical turrets.

    Rifle Scopes Lowest 34mm rings?

There's less than an eighth inch between the bottom the turret housing of my 3-20 SB and the base with 1" high badger rings. Probably about 3/32 or .090.

Rifle Scopes Explain scope construction to me.

As the magnification range increases, the precision needed in alignment of optics, grinding of lenses, etc, to achieve the same optical performance increases dramatically. My mathematical gut tells me that any optical errors due to lack of precision increase non-linearly as the magnification...

Rifle Scopes Benefit of 25X top end versus 15x?

It really depends on your application. For tactical shooting that may include shots inside of 50 yards, I'd want 3 or 4x on the low end, or if engaging movers at 50 to 100 yards. I like 16x on top much better than 12, so that puts the "sweet spot" at 4-16x, which many companies offer. I've got a...

Solid 300 yd group with .308

If you use OnTarget, make sure your pictures are straight on to the target, i.e., the camera sensor plane parallel to the target plane, to eliminate any measurement error due to perspective distortion.

Solid 300 yd group with .308

Very nice shooting! Now, download On Target software from On Target Precision Calculator. It makes measuring a whole lot easier, plus you can make the cool graphical representations you see on the web! The old version is freeware, the current version is $11. Here's your group:

Rifle Scopes best way to zero a scope

    1. Bore sight at about 100 yards. I do this at home. I use a laser for AR's and sometimes for bolt, but you can just remove bolt and look through the bore. Secure rifle with bipod and rear bag, align target, adjust scope till cross hairs center on target. 2. Shot one shot at 25 yards with POA...

Rifle Scopes scope for lmt 16' 308 mws

That would be a very good choice, imo, unless you are going to do running and gunning up close. Then you would want either a lower power or a secondary sight. Out to 400 yards, you likely don't need for a FFP reticle. If you have a low variable power optic (like 1-4, 1-6 1-8 or 2-10), you are...

Rifle Scopes Near Manufacturing Alphamount and Rings

I've got two - one with 0 MOA and the other with 20 MOA. Excellent mounts, and Richard will get you fixed up. To order, you really just need to call him and tell him what you want. I Also have a Spuhr, and I like it a little better, but it's more personal preference than quality-based. I like...

KAC SR-25 ECR- initial thoughts (brief mini review.)

Just my 2 cents ... I've got an SR-25 ECC and the gun has run flawlessly. My buddy who attended a 3-day Costa heavy carbine class this past year said the only heavies that run without any problems were 2 SR-25's. My gun shoots easily sub-MOA, and the dimpled, chrome-lined barrel of the ECC...

Rifle Scopes If not Larue what QD scope mounts hold zero?

I wish I could get LaRue rings on a Bobro base! I like the Bobro QD mechanism best, but the rings will be a touch tight where the two halves join. Not enought to cause problems, but they will mar the scope. Lap them to eliminate the problem. I've gone more to the LaRue mounts with the VFZ...

Rifle Scopes what 20moa scope base should I use?

Near Mfg. or Badger fit the bill for me. I prefer steel over aluminum, so Seekins is out, and I want a recoil lug. I just ordered a Near. Richard is a fine guy to buy from and his stuff is meticulously machined. Takes a few days more to get, since it comes from Canada, but worth it. His...
