    Re: COAL in surgeon scalpel 308? I have had a Scalpel in .308 for a couple of years. I use the Sinclair seating depth gauge. I measured the lands at 2.854 with Lapua brass and 155 Scenar. I am using an ogive of 2.210 for loading. The OAL is 2.851, since that was the max feed length.

    Re: for the 1911 guys I own 3 1911s and am happy with them all. For carry I have the Wilson Combat CQB compact. It is the commander's barrel on the officer's frame. To me that is the best of both worlds, smaller to carry but still reliable. You can pick them up used for a decent price...

    Re: GAP, SURGEON, or MCMILLAN TAC I either currently own or have owned GAP built rifles, a Surgeon Scalpel and AI AW and AWSM. Surgeon makes great rifles and if you know of one available configured the way you want it, I would recommend you buy it. I certainly am very happy with my Scalpel.

    Re: AI AX260 - Pierced Primer I use a Redding FL die on my brass, I bump the shoulder back .002. I also jump the bullet .002 from the lands. To the original poster are you jamming the bullet into the lands? That can certainly increase pressure. Just a thought.

    Re: AW .338 vs. Custom Rifle I have an AI AWSM .338 Lapua and just got an AI AWSM rebarreled to 7mm Rem Mag. I have found my .338 to be very accurate with soft recoil and totally reliable. You can't go wrong buying one.
