I really like BE86 for full power 9mm loads. It's supposedly like Power Pistol, but with flash suppressant in it. Gets good case fill. Haven't tried it in long barrels yet. But I use it to replicate 124gr gold dot loads.
140gr eldm 41 5gr H4350 Cci450 Lapua virgin srp brass mandrel sized @ .262" 2.820" oal Here are reloads using the same data with 2x fireformed brass. Annealed after each firing. Redding s die with SAC .288" bushing and .262 mandrel.
I did 10:1 for several batches....but the last few years I started doing 12:1. Seems a little less sticky. Also switched to ISO HEET red bottle at the beginning of covid, as I didn't want to deplete my stash of 99% iso.
In case anyone was wondering, i heard back from SAC. The setup using their bushings is the same has any other bushings. The mistake I was making was not putting the decapping rod lock ring on top of the bushing before screwing the die back on, as noted in my earlier post. Btw, b Bolt Action...
Yep, did that. Removed decapping rod and threaded the top part with lock ring back on. Still has rattle. I'll take it apart again this evening and double check everything though.
I'm running a full size S die with SAC bushings. Does this method apply to all bushings, or just the redding bushings? I noticed, even if I tighten the top all the way with the sac bushing, there is still play and the bushing rattles around, which I assumed was OK.
I stacked the 75gr gold dots pretty deep right at the beginning of covid. I figured they would disappear, so I added another 2k to my existing stash. Also beefed up my stash of 124gr 9mm GD. Recently been on the hunt for 140gr GD for my 6.5cm.
Right on. My usual 75-77gr 8208 loads have been 23.4gr for several years running now. Pretty much plug and play for any bullet in that weight class, but I still do a small workup when trying new bullets.
Curious about the 75gr Gold Dot as a hunting bullet. I have a good load worked up with them using 8208. Accuracy is stellar. Haven't tried them on critters yet though. Any experience out there?
My thought process on mandrels, bushings etc... Lets assume slight variances in thickness around the circumference of the neck. When you neck or bushing size, those variances would move to the inside of the case mouth. A mandrel would then make the inside of the neck perfectly round, moving the...
