Watch Out for Scammers!
We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
We must have all been in the same batch - mine showed up last Tuesday as well. Ordered it around Thanksgiving. I was a little slow confirming my final order if I remember correctly, so I was probably at the end of those queued up from the Black Friday sale. Timing didn't bother me at all, I...
I've never asked Manners for a lead estimate, as they are all over the place. Read through the thread, some people wait 13-14 months, sometimes people randomly get them in 3-4 months. That being said - and it has never happened to me before, but this time I am on week 6 after getting the email...
Yeah I get that - I posted your pic because @KineticPerformance referenced it as to the gap on the LA stocks vs the short actions. Hey Robert, if I use the online builder this weekend (to take advantage of the sale) will I have a chance to modify my order to include this after the fact? My...
So this is how the SA stocks look: But this is how the LA rifles look, even with the "oem" rail from Manners on there... correct? (Taken from post #69):
Curios, anyone have pics of this "unsightly gap"? I'm going to order a LRH for an Origin LA during their sale and even though I'm going to order either way, I'm curious what this person is talking about. Also, looks like the new full length ARCA rail is still not available via the online order...
Anyone weigh a long action with mini chassis and bottom metal? My EH1-TK weighed in 5-6 oz more than my math said it would based on Manners posted weights. Not the end of the world but more than I expected. Good to see the short actions with mini chassis are coming in at 34ish oz, that's in...
Good idea, tapping didn't work. I got it hand tightened then was able to slip the shim on and angle it correctly on the vise so there was a tiny bit of clearance as long as it didn't slip, which luckily it did not. Wasn't ideal but after some pain and annoyance I got it torqued to 100 ft lbs...
Hey guys - quick question... google didnt yield any results. I can call zermatt tomorrow but thought I might get lucky on here tonight. I am building my Origin tonight. I'd like to remove the rail - my barrel vise shims are not tapered, so I'd rather put the metal portion near the tenon in...
Why would it sound like a good idea to use a Savage thread when there's a shit ton of Tikka prefits available? At this stage (or even 1-2 yrs ago) you are only getting a couple more prefit options going with a Savage thread over a standard Tikka. I'm not an engineer, but if there's an...
Exactly. 👍 Mine are setup for a lighter weight mtn rifle, a 6 CM and a 6.5 CM / 7SAUM switch barrel. 300 PRC is in a real long action. It's not worth messing with the Tikka for those length cartridges IMPO.
@KnowNothing256 and @Rob01 how do those work for tapered barrels? Would be nice to have something that makes it easier to take off f'n Tikka barrels, which as everyone knows is a bitch.
Its two pieces of steel with some holes drilled in it. The shims suck (IMO) and none are tapered, so taking off tapered barrels fucking blows. Its about as simple as simple gets, there is no thought or engineering put into it. I am probably being picky, but I DIY pretty much everything and my...
