Practicing for long range - options when you are capped at 200 yards??

Kinda off to the side here, if you are using a ballistics program, get to know it and what matters. Get the program set up so it is working and then play with it. Just change one thing to see how it really affects your bullet. Try changing just the humidity. Then just the elevation above sea...

    New to rimfire

As far as a good class, it depends on where you are. Some of the best teachers move around. A class by Frank the master of the hide is worth its weight in gold. Caylen Wojcik is another excellent instructor. Of course if you are near Texas, Rifles Only is great. I am sure there are some...

    Scope Chaps!!

Ever think of making the cover two pieces. One for the scope and a shorter one to cover the shade? Seems like the shade covers would be pretty simple. Just two or three lengths in 50mm and 56mm. Then you could easily remove the shade and the scope would still be covered.

    New to rimfire

I have been playing drums for thirty years. I see a lot of drummers that have GAS. Gear acquisition syndrome. They think a new book or different sticks or a better set of drums will make them better, it won’t. I started precision rifle back when .308 was king. I got a 6.5 Creedmoor when the...

Practicing for long range - options when you are capped at 200 yards??

I have found that Rimfire is just like shooting center fire. Once you have good fundamentals, building a stable position on a barricade and calling the wind is what makes a winner. Learning to build a stable position is fairly easy. Like stated above, get a DFAT for your scope, build a...

Barrel tuner worth it or not?

I live in the middle of nowhere Georgia. I usually have to order my ammo online. I have found my Vudoo like SK long range match. Different lots shoot differently in that rifle. I have found a tuner helps me dial in each different lot a little to get the best out of each lot.

What are NRL .22 folks using for scopes?

I have a B14R in a KRGBravo stock for NRL22 with an Athlon Midas Tac. I really like that scope and it keeps the rifle weight down for off hand stages. Now for PRSRIMFIRE I shoot a Vudoo in a KRG X-RAY stock with an Athlon Cronus Gen II. That rifle is much heavier and is a bitch off hand but...

Vudoo, CZ, Bergara, and Kidd go head to head

I have a Bergara and a Vudoo. I use the Bergara for NRL22 and the Vudoo for PRSRimfire. The Bergara is in a KRG Bravo and is left light for the offhand stages but I think it could compete well in PRS too The Vudoo is in an X-RAY has more weight and a tuner. I use the tuner to dial in...

Barrel tuner worth it or not?

I have a Bergara and a Vudoo. I use the Bergara for NRL22 matches and the Vudoo for PRS Rimfire matches. I have a Cortina Tuner on the Vudoo. I like SK Long Range but usually only get a thousand or so rounds at a time. That lasts me about three months. In my testing I have found the tuner...

    Bullet profile for range

I know that some people have 2 profiles on their ballistic computer for longer ranges. One for up to 1000 and another for further. I get that because how a bullet acts at say 2900 fps and it’s bc will be different than how it acts at say 1500 fps. What I am wondering is if anyone has...

    PRACTICAL Marksmanship?

When I was still on the job and a firearms instructor for the department, I shot 3 gun to sharpen my skills. Later I gravitated to cowboy action shooting for fun. Did that directly relate to the weapons I was using at work? No, but I am sure it still had some benefit. PRS is a game and I...

    New to bolt guns.

I kinda gathered that was the way you were thinking. I bought the Howa years ago whe the Bravo version first came out. I got lucky and got a good one that was giving me 1/2 moa accuracy. Many many rounds and competitions later I have noticed the accuracy going a bit but I am very used to and...
